I am running 6x slas, endo, ferro, 190XL, AMS and 11 DHS. Upon double basics may go to 2x splas.

It does not obsolete the 3M.

Hi. I'm a light pilot myself and proud owner of some locust-mechs. And i'm always eager to learn something and enjoy new ideas.

But for the love of god i can't figure out what you are trying to tell with you post/this thread.

And since when is "obsolete" a verb?

srsly. plz write a little bit more.

"Obsolete" can be employed as a transitive verb. My use was correct. I am sorry if you were looking for a longer write up. The loadout section of the forum has been deleted and mech guides is all that remains apart from general discussion.

The 1E and the 3M are both very good at doing separate things for the locust.

1E vs 3M

The 1E is more capable at higher alpha/dps but the 3M is just much more 'durable'

Zombie Locust is hilarious.

Webster says it can be a transitive verb and lists the following example:

"For radio itself deliberately obsoletes today what it built yesterday. —David Sarnoff, Television, 1936"

I don't have much to say about the 1E, though. It is still a Locust.

It's the internet. 'Proper' language is superfluous here.

I like Locusts. I'd like them more if they were relatively durable. Within the realm of light mechs, they are uniquely capable. In the big picture, though, they're one-trick ponies. Speed, at the cost of most everything else. I can usually build a Jenner to do what the Locust can do, only with a couple tons more armor and some jump jets, at the cost of those top 15-20 kph. Still faster, BY FAR, than any medium other than a Cicada.

But anyhow, I like that some others also like the Locust. It's only right to be included in the game, since it's one of the most common battlemechs in the lore/canon. It was also more durable in TT, relative to other mechs, for sake of its ridiculous speed.

Still, competitive teams are over the Locust already. It's worth the extra tonnage to bring a more durable mech to the fight. Maybe some day...

i was thinking going the 6SL route for the 1E too. i also like zombie Locust 3M- may have to try a version of that too (will probably steal the engine i'm using now in the 3M for the 1E)

I have purchased my -1E and -1M. Can't afford the 180XL right now, so I'm sacrificing AMS to test them both with the 190XL. More to follow...

The irony of this statement is absolutely delicious.

I'm giving some credit here in assuming that it is also intentional.

when i build that out, i dont have the slots for ferro. it works with standard armor though.

doesnt look like it would obsolete the 3m considering you can run 4mediums with dual ams, its still arguably the "best" locust if such a thing exsists. youll gain a bit more DPS with the 6 smalls, but having to be within 100m doesnt lend itself too well to the chassis if you ask me.

loving this thing..its like a little sleeper if you can get in behind folks.

I'm running without AMS on the "E"

XL190
5 ML
4 DHS
endo
ferro

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...e5ddf0eb1ec4b5a

getting one shotted a lot but I've been having some really solid rounds this morning with it in the 300 damage range with some kills and lots of assists.

alpha'd a catapult in the ass to it's death in one blow.

I tried the 6 SL thing and it just wasn't as effective as the 5 ML, the range and cooldown to me makes them not very useful because of your armor ratings. the ML range at least gives you the ability to hit and run a bit easier. I think if the SLs had a cool down of like 1.50 or 1.75 then it would be a lot more useful.

6 SL http://mwo.smurfy-ne...23f2bc305ed5dcd

Tempted to try SPL but i don't think it would be useful at all as well.

also, don't try 6ML, you will over heat nearly instantly, and you can't dissipate heat at all. I tried it....and it was an absolute failure. waiting too long for heat to drop just to fire back after every 1 or 2 lasers fired.

thing is, i'd setup the 3M the same way but i chose the E because i have that ability to go 6 weapons if I wanted (more or less is SL ever get a buff in some way)

I also like the idea of SL boats
