PGI, stop giving those away with almost no effort required from a player. Make it 30-40 games, not 5. We had cockpit items for 25 victories!
No one needs the game to become more simple and eleemosynary.

People may leave the game if it goes on that "handing out for almost nothing" way.

Overall: we are not happy.

Looks to me like you're in the minority on this one, despite Tekadept's attempts to search out all the negative posts. :P

I'm very much aware of the majority playerbase here at the moment. From my understanding, the vast majority of players that remain here are quite gullible and easy to please, while at the same time sit there wining on the forums that things aren't 'balanced', despite the fact they never will be, nor do they understand development in the slightest. One of the plagues of modern 'gaming'. No, I'm not asking you to agree or comment, so save your breath.

Sure, I'll probably grab the Thunderbolt despite this. Sure, I'm going to keep playing after this, No, they're not getting any more of my money. Yes, I expect a game that's worth the shitloads we've thrown at them. You guys need to stop being so... acceptive. It's something that's crippled the game development industry... but you can't see that, can you?

Hm Sarna says TDR-9S Based on the older 5SS model, the 9S is built with off the shelf structural components and armor. The 'Mech is armed with an ER-PPC for its primary long-range firepower. This is supported at closer ranges by an SRM6 launcher and three Medium Lasers Finally, the Mech carries an AMS for missile protection and two Machine Guns and a pair of Flamers for anti-infantry use. Uh... 5 Energy, 2 Ballistic, 1 Missile, 1 AMS ? Sounds not bad at all.

Thank you PGI, i very much like this!

Many positive changes since February! We still don't have Community Warfare, but as long as i get a free Bay every month, and sometimes even a Mech, i'm quite happy to wait a little longer. Tournaments are nice as well, although i don't have the time/skill to make a serious push for the top 10.

Despite people on here complaining i would like to say thank you PGI, however I do feel this is to easy to achieve, I would suggest increasing the amount of games required to earn the mech on the next event.

Everyone asking for the giveaways to require more wins, consider how many new players have trouble getting 5 wins, this is really to help new players get invested in the game, showing them the value of extra mechbays and more mechs. Additionally it gets them invested in a new chassis that they may be willing to spend MC on to fully elite.

Thanks PGI,

although I agree the challenges could be a little bit more ... challenging :-) ... as a new player I reallly appreciate them. It gives us new players the opportunity to play a different chassis and weight class without the need to grind C-Bills for weeks.

Me and my group mates will be there to catch our Thunderbolts!

new players get a nice cbill bonus, five games is not alot to win, yes promotions are good but making them so there is very little challenge will in the long run make people lose interest. Don't get me wrong i am all for these promotions but even doubling the amount of games required would in my opinion make it more fun

Very nice !

I agree that 5 matches is enough, because there are even veterans that struggle to get 5 wins in 10 matches (yes, when you finally are in the perfect elo bracket and you get 50/50 balance of wins/losses).
And not everyone has more than 1-2h per day to play games when there is family and (for this weekend) Eastern.
I don't know how many games green pilots would have to do and these weekends tend to be brutal overall with lots of players.

The TDR 9S is a pretty good platform. Even if it is easi to hit (broad torso), it can mount nearly every weapon, has a good tonnage and loadout options for a lot of experimenting.

New and old players will get some CBills and XP while fighting to get the TDR and then playing it to gain more for even more equipment experiments. :P

Now we just need to spread the words to our slacking friends who get bored too easily nowadays and do some matches together and enjoy the current gameplay.

BTW: I'm having a blast with my SRM mediums again after such a long time!

if there's something to be liked about this is that it's announced a bunch of days early. some good leeway time for us to organise our weekend.

keep the early announcements up PGI :P

Please dont say "we" if you only express your own, stubborn opinion.

30-40 games is a totally unrealistic value, I don't know if you realized it but there are people out there who have a life. 30-40 matches means 300-400 minutes of playing, thats ~6 hours for one challenge. It might be do-able for players like you but the majority of players here are older, have families and/or jobs which are more important than MWO :P

There are a LOT of happy people, players who come back from deep-sleep mode to get this 'mech.
5 wins can be tough and these challenges might be the second best thing after Niko Snow that happened to this game.

A nice C-bill bonus that is enough to outfit 1 mech properly, 2 if it's not using XL engines and you get some of the better cheevo bonuses along the way. This is a third mech, with DHS (a noob tax for most mechs), and a 5th mechbay to encourage them to play more to get more mechs. It eases the burden of getting elite status with Thunderbolts if you choose to get them with your remaining mechbays, I just don't get why this is possibly BAD for new players. If you don't think it's hardcore enough so be it, but plain and simply games are more successful when the rewards come quick at the beginning and slower your experience progresses, and a free mech at 5 wins fits that bill.

i have not stated anything about this being bad for new players and as a casual gamer i have no wish to,see this game become hard ore. However people play games for fun, to be challenged and for the sense of achievement. I simple feel five matchs isn't challenging enough a doesn't have much sense of achievement. However this is my opinion and you have the right to not agree with it, please don't take my posts out of context though.
