On the contrary, it has nothing to do with age. Indeed you're working with very, very overused stereotypes there and hence I wonder whether you truly understand it as you think you do. In fact I've seen more 'elders' whining about the strangest elements of gameplay in the balance forum than any child.

Granted you've been around longer than me, and you've seen far more of the industry and its evolution that I'd ever dream of. That's great. And you know, it's great and all that we're getting the chance to win a free 'Mech.

So perhaps I come across a little strong. I struggle with the concept with F2P, since once upon a time you could purchase an entire MechWarrior game for $60 and get your monies worth from it. The fact that they're still putting so much effort into the marketing side and not the development side irritates me. This 'freebie' is a marketing ploy, simple as that. That said, it's their game, and obviously I can head off whenever I please.

Let me retract what I've said beforehand, since I don't particularly want an argument. I'm happy they're hosting the event, and I'm looking forward to grabbing the Thunderbolt when I can.

Gotta be because of rumors, yup. Lollipops, Cotton Candy and Rumors. That is what today's Gaming Companies run on these days... apparently. LOL!

P.S. You could at least have listed that last line at the top, where it rightfully belongs.

I did wonder where the extra Thundy went in the new pheonix builds now I know

Well done PGI

I sit here reading the comments as a person that will never be asked to moderate, who will never receive tickets for a live even, because I've said some damn rude things about PGI in the past, and I expect I will in the future.

I'm left somewhat bemused by the people being negative on this one, its just really making you look stupid, for knocking this.

For whatever reason this is being done, when its positive, they deserve praise, and people that are grasping at straws to say something bad about this, are just losing any credibility, and will be ignored and laughed at when the negative things said have grounds for justification.

just show some restraint

Being a Phoenix Mech...would that mean it will get the same +30% CB and the colors? Or is this "new unreleased" another t-bolt with only different hard-points w/o the +30% CB and colors? Any devs can tell us?

I think you all have missed the point here.. As MUCH as I would like to say PGI was being nice to us.. its just not the case. They have already proven they can create mechs like its nothing so for them it was not a big deal. For the old players not a big deal as they already have the slots and have the variants mastered for the most part?? yes? ok

So who does this hit and benefit? New/not a lot of money players and PGI.. well the first one is obvious right? New players now have a new mech that they did not have before that they can not get past 1x basic.. that is unless they go buy mech bays.. So really its an evil ploy on PGIs part to make more money that's really all it is about. Giving most of us another mech that we will drive for a few days, maybe even master in time is no real benefit or reward now is it??

Titanfall is Buy To Play, not Free To Play, it is not an apples to apples comparison. Star Citizen promises to be the second coming and although I have bought in and I am extremely excited about it, it currently has a miniscule amount of playable content.

That's good mech out of the block without modification.

Your looking at:

Based on the older 5SS model, the 9S is built with off the shelf structural components and armor. The 'Mech is armed with an ER PPC for its primary long-range firepower. This is supported at closer ranges by an SRM-6 launcher and three Medium Lasers. Finally, the Mech carries an Anti-Missile System for missile protection and two Machine Guns and a pair of Flamers for anti-infantry use. BV (1.0) = 1,244, BV (2.0) = 1,494[18]

So your looking at 5 energy, 1 missile, 2 ballistic for hardpoints AMS system.

So your looking at a strip down. Quick endo change LRM 20, 4 M. lasers, ER Large and Ultra or Ac 10
Weapons & Equipment: Loc Heat Ammo Crits Mass 1 ER PPC RA 15 3 7.00 2 Machine Guns LA 0 200 3 2.00 (Ammo Loc: 1 LT) 2 Flamers RT 6 2 2.00 1 Anti-Missile System RT 1 12 2 1.50 (Ammo Loc: 1 RT) 1 SRM 6 LT 4 15 3 4.00 (Ammo Loc: 1 LT) 3 Medium Lasers LT 9 3 3.00 CASE Equipment: LT RT 2
1.00

God bless you Double heat sinks. Calculated Factors: Total Cost: 5,969,811 C-Bills

Only one variant of each of Phoenix Mechs had the 30% accelerator. So these new variants will be standard Mechs.

But hey, free Mech. Worth it either way!

TF's Open Beta was free to play. SC's Dogfighting Module is the first true ''playable'' content in a much-anticipated F2P game.

But anyway, way to miss the point.

Looking forward to it! Thank you!

I am reaching the point of going over to the dark side, but I might as well enjoy some free stuff before switching sides. The Dark Side's cookies are just too good to ignore...

Based on Sarna.net 9S has 6E 1M 2B hardpoints. Equipped weapons will be an ER PPC, 3 MLs, 2 Flms, 1SRM6 and 1 AMS. No mention of ECM or JJs.

Still waiting on for ECMs on Mediums and Heavies..

How about a free mech every week PGI delays CW? Maybe that will light a fire under the developers' skin.
