Yea, 35 might be a bit much, but 20 games over 5 days wouldn't be bad. The Centurion last time and the free mech bay could have been 10 games over the weekend.

Check the previous events. There was an event with a 3050 logotype given out for 25 victories. 20 might be all right, but not for a 'Mechbay or a 'Mech. 30 sounds reasonable, but PGI could add a 'Mechbay for 5 games with damage over 800 and a 'Mech for 30, for example..

3050 holo was 25 matches.

I remember this explicitly. I can live with 25 matches... because 25 wins require you to play to win, and that'll screw with the newbies because that would require an entire weekend.

Never mind, it was 25 wins, but you need to see the context of the progression.

3050 holo was 25 matches, but IIRC, it was like Monday-Friday (Friday was when it ended), so the gaming was done DURING THE WEEK.

Following that was the Conquest and Assault wins.. which was 10 wins EACH.

On launch day, it was changed to 24 matches over 2 weeks for that medallion.

Christmas wins was 12 wins over like 2 weeks or something.

The response to the previous challenges was the timing IN ADDITION to the # of wins/matches required.

So, you're overreacting quite a bit. Not everyone will commit to such a thing if you set the bar that high.

Damage over 800 is RESERVED for people that get really lucky. IT IS NOT EVEN A COMMONPLACE NUMBER. 400 would be considered a great game for some.

when your saying anything to excessive your entering troubled waters making it appear you only want hardcores to be able to get it. Screwing with the noobies is exactly what they don't want to be doing kind of like saying I'm better then you so I get access to a free mech as well as smashing your face off the floor repeatedly.

I'm all for making it 20+ wins, but don't make it an event, make it a cheevo reward if you do that. As for a once-a-month give-away, 5 wins is great for a weekend. Maybe I just want more cheevo-rewards, in fact I definitely do and I suspect this stuff is testing the waters for the post-cadet-bonus mech rewards!

FYI, the graphic is incorrect--once you've completed the challenge, the mech+bay will automatically be redeemed.

I'm all in favor of PGI "giving away" a free 'mech , however , I can also see a good argument for making a tiered challenge .
5 wins gets you a mech bay, 10 wins gets you the 'mech , 15 wins gets you X skin for the 'mech , 20 wins gets you a premium color.

Cheers

That's a cool idea, but maybe drag that out over a week to get all the rewards. Or if this wasn't a challenge but built into the achievement system like the cadet bonus. Win your 500th match and get a bobblehead!

I love this idea! I think the mech bays are extremely useful to new players most of all. And while a free mech is definitely a valuable thing, having the mech bay allows them to have more flexibility in trying out new mechs.

Getting 5 wins today is proving difficult.

I see why this Thunderbolt's feature is dual-AMS as LRMS are still horribly broken. I'd like to take this opportunity to again petition the devs to reduce the speed of LRMs to what it was before that game-killing speedup that occurred when the devs took leave of their senses. Why did they decide to gimp the autocannon but not the LRM in the recent patch? It is as though they can't acknowledge their error with the LRMs.

That said, this thunderbolt should have had the ability to sport jump jets.

Christ... how does this even happen. I've had some really bad runs, of 5+ losses in a row (with a 1.3 W/L overall) but never like that. Best to walk away, even if for a short period.

LRM's are really fine for most Elo levels. If you're having trouble, here are 3 things that should fix it.
1. Find ECM mechs on your team and shadow them.
2. Bring AMS and find other AMS mechs and shadow them. 3-4 AMS together are really useful.
3. Be aware of cover, and don't rush in unless your team is pushing.

Managed it in 2.5 hours, while streaming, but the TBolt and mech bay didn't show up until I logged out and logged back into the game again.

Wasn't working for me on Mordor when we were getting LRM'd to death behind cover via spotters or a UAV. ECM is a rare commodity in the matches that I've been playing. I've noticed in my "microcosm of the meta" that most everyone sports an AMS. That helps, but not when the warp-speed LRMS (which even lights still can't dodge all that well) are coming in like the arrows that "blot out the sun" in 300.

To make matters worse, the Tbolt's stock loadout is crap so I'll have to go into the mechlab, a place I've dreaded going ever since UI 2.0 killed it, in order to make the mech usable.

Yeah, be aware you may need to RELOG if you get your wins and don't have a redeem pop-up appear in your mechlab.

Did anyone else get three generic errors when making changes to the 'mech, saving, and then attempting to launch? As far as I can tell, unless I've gone full ****** (you never go full ******) this build is fine*.

However, when I look at the 'mech overview, I see this:

Anyone else having this issue?

*Debatable: all my builds are terrible. Leave me alone
