i usually just grind them out en masse until i get a few teams that are good enough to not make too many mistakes, and then this coincides with me not playing like an idiot. I also wasn't here for the past 5 events because i had better things to do at the time, but typically winning when i'm solo playing is not high on the priority list, it happens when it happens.

took me 3 hours to do, but the way i grind cycle i also made 3 million credits. plus talking shit is always funny due to text lacking fundamental social cues for person to person communcation, so they ALWAYS think you're serious.. but I digress.

whenever i click the battle button, just like in world of tanks, i've already accepted that winning is an unreliable goal due to the nature of random battles, and instead go for what makes me the most credits. coincidentally the damage and kills i make over there translates into wins, over here however, instead of best tanks you have best builds, something I don't have which means i can't make the critical 700-1000+ damage needed to carry a team. If I wanted them at this time I'd have them, but right now my priorities are get my founders mechs operational so I can carousel them quickly for optimal credit gain. sure my elo will go into the trash, but i'm not interested in elo for random games where I don't get to choose the people I want to play with. Real effort in a team setting is meant for teammates you know and trust, and practice with on a regular basis, everything else is grinding credits in a room where the objective is shoot the red enemies before the blue enemies die so you can collect your rewards and do it a billion more times.

3 million credits in 3 hours? Wow.

I've been on several winning teams lately where no one player has racked up 700+ damage.

I'm still not liking these warp-speed LRMs. I used to use them before the speed boost and I didn't see anything wrong with them from either the "sending" or "receiving" end. I cannot say the same now. Considering that this mech is one of a rare few with dual AMS I can't help but suspect that PGI sees the problems with the LRMs as well. Just slow them back down.

What's weird is that my WLR was exactly 50/50 until the challenge started, now I can't get a win to save my life. Even tried my cheesy LRM boat, 5 kills, 800 damage, and a loss : /

The good news is that this means the promotion is working. New players and old players on a break are going for the free mech and playing more today than ever. The bad news is that many of these players will be out of practice or just so inexperienced that the overall quality of teams will suffer for the weekend.

Hey, this is pretty awesome what you guys are doing. I also love it that you release more and more mechs and at the same time continue to tweak and change older mechs, their hardpoints, hitboxes and so on.

All in all the game has been a lot of entertainment even after having played it for quite some time. Not many games manage to do that. I for one enjoy the game a lot. Though lately I get this weird memory allocation error a lot. But Im sure it will be fixed at some point.

Good stuff!

Yeah, I get the same thing too, but that's because I am running a 32 bit OS as most people who have this problem is due to the 32 bit system. Most people appear to see the problem go away as soon as they upgrade to a 64 bit OS. Which is why a friend of mine is going to hook me up with one.

you make more money only playing out decent games than you do by also playing out crappy games (i also cycle my founders mechs like nobody's business, the extra 25% cash and 100k a game average means 10-12 games per million, if i'm losing a lot i can start and finish up to 20 games in an hour, even at 50k apiece thats still a million). the difference between a good effort on a loss and the pubbie shuffle on a loss is around 20-30k, the salvage bonus usually covers that, and if it doesn't, the time spent playing every game out can actually negatively impact your credit gain if they're losses.

it is a method I worked out in world of tanks, but the bottom line is you acknowledge when a game is going to be a loss (you can usually tell after the first 3-5 minutes), and when it is a loss you cash out and hop on the next mech. however if its going to be a win you stay on for extra credits (as most wins don't last longer than 6-9 minutes).

some might call it bad sportsmanship, two I say two things. Firstly, LOL sportsmanship in a random game with strangers, as far as i'm concerned gg stands for git gud. Secondly, Acknowledging when I've lost and admitting defeat accelerates the game as well as everybody else's credit gain. You might call it defeatest, but if you honestly can't tell when you have absolutely no chance of winning, and refuse to cut and run, you might be a masochist, or possibly insane.

plus you have the added effect of satiring people who rage die by dropping some hate bombs before disconnecting after you cash out. They won't know its a joke so the reactions will be genuine... but I digress.

even on the worst of games, you should do all the damage you can and then cash out. usually after i spend my 4 tons of lrm on my cata, or my 3 tons of ac/20 on my hunchie, if the game is going badly i cash out and start a new game. and if you want, run a tag too. this is something I haven't bothered on doing too much, but if you're Carousel grinding like this it might be a good idea to further maximize credit gain.

also, if you buy champion or hero mechs to do this method, make sure they are good at getting assists. assists+damage+tag=$$$ out the ass. sometimes even 200k without premium.

although, don't do this when you lance up unless everybody is doing it. otherwise cashing out is incredibly impolite to your lance mates.

So, dumping out of a game is ok, unless your lanced up with your pals, and then its rude?
Yeah, so don't rob from your friends, but that stranger a few states away-- totally kosher.
Kids these days, no backbone.
Sportsmanship is dead. I can't wait for everyone to start playing this way.

I've dropped for a win but not a loss. Like if it's 6 v 1 and there's some light mech running around or shutdown somewhere I'll leave the match rather than play hide and seek for 8 min.

Making me want to just join and drop with like 10 mechs at once and hope that one of them randomly is in a winning match.

I don't get it. Where is this "redeem" button on the challenges page? It says I have 5 wins but I can't figure out how to get the free mech and bay.

Wait 15 minutes or play another match while waiting.

If it doesn't occur after playing one complete match, log in and out. If you got the mechbay and not the mech, log in and out again. When you have full mechbays, the game only gives you the mechbay first, and not the mech initially. It requires two transactions under this scenario.

Never thought a mech with flamers would do so well.

PGI, stop giving those away with almost no effort required from a player. Make it 30-40 games, not 5. We had cockpit items for 25 victories!
No one needs the game to become more simple and eleemosynary.

People may leave the game if it goes on that "handing out for almost nothing" way.

Overall: we are not happy.

Speak for yourself. Im happy...Just got my first T-bolt to play with. I got the 5 wins in about an hour. This is gonna be fun
Thanks PGI.
