what are the steps to get the thunder mech?.... i have been trying to put the code in. i have made the 5 wins but my code says that it wont work. can some one please tell me how to get the TDR please?? i need a new mech.

I have an issue. I have won my 5 games but it won't give me the notice that telling me I have a new mech. Also, it's been 1 day since I've gotten my 5th victory and the progress bar shows that I've won 5 games.

Did you forget to put in AMS ammo?
AMS ammo burns off a little too fast, (to the point where the Bitchin' Betty is all but interrupting the "AMS ammo at 25%" statement with the "AMS ammo depleted" statement at times), but it's still eating a lot of missiles.

This is the only 'Mech in which I've gotten an 800 damage game in before basics were even done. That I can remember.
It's like a mobile pocket Battlemaster.

For those who want to know how to redeem their free 'Mech :
  • Wait 15 minutes after your 5th win.
  • Restart the MWO client.

Edit: Irony is that this post is going to be knocked off the last page by people asking how to redeem their 'Mech.

Under Modules...
"Targeting" or "Support", whichever has the weapon modules.
"AMS Range Module."
Upgrade it. Twice.
Slap it on your mech.
Eliminate 6-ish missiles per second for 2 to 3 seconds as they come at you.
Watch all volleys disappear from the sky.
Find yourself asking for AMS nerfs after that. :rolleyes:

So I earned my 5 wins earlier today it says I have won the 5 games in my tracker, I have since restarted the client and it has been over 15 hours and my new mech still hasn't appeared. Is there some way I can fix t his or do I have to wait for the devs to come in on monday to fix it?

I managed to find a loadout that works okay for now:
TDR-9S

The energy weapons part of the loadout feels underwhelming much of the time, but the dakka makes up for it. :rolleyes:


I also tried UAC/5 + 2 PPC + 3 ML but it just didn't click for me even though it's technically "more meta-ish" than the one above.

few months ago i remember having 3 ams around me and it couldn't even take out a 15 pack.

so im a little skeptical

Will try. I gotta spend those cbills myself. But it's amazing how many missiles these things shoot down. (Seen them take down single LRM-15s. Though obviously they can't take out every single missile that some of these people use.)

Well, as the man said: seeing is believing. I don't think that AMS performance against single launchers is anything to go by. In reality you are dealing with multiple LRM or S/SRM launchers much more often. Also, don't you find it a bit weird to suggest modules to 'enable' AMS to do its job properly? Basically says it all right there ...

That's just bad, and you should feel bad. :rolleyes:

Hint: XL on Tbolts are a deathtrap. Hitting the side torso accidentally is not that hard... :blink:

Thanks guys, this was really awesome. It's worth it for the mech bay alone but a T-bolt with solid hp's and dh's is epic. nailed it! Really helped my mate who's been grinding through after finishing his cadet bonus. I have no problem putting more money into this game if you guys keep giving back like this. Keep up the good work

This mech, stock, is the most fun I've had in a long time. I slapped an XL in there, flip-flopped a flamer and ML (so one in either side torso), annnnd...called it a day. Having a blast - might have finally found the mech to challenge my Wolverine for fun.

No, if you don't spend MC for 'Mechs. It's a freebie dual AMS heavy, which does make it an exception to the normal rule. Go figure, right after noobs screamed "LURMAGEDDON", too...

Hi guys,

first of all I want to greet everyone. This is my first note...
I have a problem concerning the this TDR easter action. The last time with the mech bay and the centurion
I had no problem but this time it seems to be that I cannot get the TDR. I played one Friday... I played on
Saturday... I played to today with many wins but I see no response...
Could anybody tell me what I can do in this case?!

This was a great event. and I want to encourage PGI/IGP to do this kind of thing more often :D
