Just got out of a match with 6 kills in a free thunderbolt. I've always done well in t-bolts, I don't see why people are down on them. Sure, they don't fit the meta for the competitions, but they are great fun in pugs. Sturdy brawlers. The (P) t-bolt makes a nice hybrid LRM/brawling build.

  • Alpha potential is smaller than in similar mechs
  • Bulk makes them an easier target
  • Most people don't really know how to twist to avoid damage (I trained in Yenlo, and I still forget to twist in my Thuds)
  • The list goes on and on and on

I like that PGI is doing more of these events...gives newer players a chance to fill out their bays a bit without spending all their cbills on a mech they end up hating.

Ironically, the 9S is capable of the exact same loadout as the one I use in my Firebrand, the one I posted a stupid-high damage score of the other day.

I loaded up the 9S with one less heatsink and the second AMS...even without having even the basics done yet it's maintaining a steady 2.5 w/l and 2.3 k/d.

Looking forward to comparing the two when it's fully elited lol.
