Victor may have been more mobile, caught in a city setting, Remember terrain is a factor that cannot be ignored. I have yet to read past this post so I look forward to reading the how and why.

cause one would want to bring the best ride they feel they have. In a one on one I would want to face you in your best, not a fair and balanced match.

I assume the Hunchback was there for Fraps or to get Wolf into the match? If Fraps, will we be seeing a vid of this dual???

Product of private matches. You need 1 person with premium time activated on either team in order to launch with less than 12 players. The Hunchback disconnected as soon as the round started and I killed him at the end so our mechs wouldn't be stuck in game.

I took a Dragon Slayer that goes 80kph and managed to use buildings as cover. When I was exposed he seemed careful to only hit my CT. I fired as often as I could.


I didn't record because I was concerned about adding any lag to the battle. It was on PTS and I didn't want to risk any unusual issues occuring.

I am disappointed I can't settle all issues like this

I'm right there with you but for a single caveat: The Big Stompy robots, move, feel, and look better than any other Big Stompy Robots in video game history. The combat part (Robits shooting robits) of this game is solid enough (repetitive but solid) if only it had anything else to back that up.

Because sometimes size for size isn't the best match. For instance, if someone was taking a Thunderbolt, I would be better off facing it in my ShadowHawk than in another Tbolt, Jager or Catapult, because I am a much better pilot in my Shad than I m in a heavy, generally. Also, depending on terrain, thanks to the gimps to agility, I generally prefer my Orion-VA now over my Victors (sad, since I used to be one of the biggest VTR nuts in the game), because that agility is a big part of my Game. Same reason as if the other guy took an Atlas, I would fight from a VTR, BLR or HGN.

Tonnage don't really matter that much, in general.

He shoulda targeted your RT. If you ran XL, you die, if you don't you get neutered. Less armor. Slightly harder to hit, but not much, specially if you were poptarting (as you gotta face for a second or two, in a predictable trajectory). Still, not gonna trash talk the guy as he was there, and I was not. In battles I have often made non intuitive choices too, for various reasons.

No, no my friend, we have fixed this thread. And when i say fixed I mean in the way a normal person might use it. This thread is now a rational discussion complete with fully formed thoughts and coherent discourse.

Weep not for a job well done, it may not have been sent to K-town for re-education but despite the efforts of it's early pages it has been redeemed.
