Pretty sure this link will take you to the image it is on Google Drive.

I have been getting this issue since the latest update, and I have run the repair tool. I have not re-installed yet, because of internet issues being slower than normal. I can still get into game after i restart several times, and after getting into the game it seems to run fine after that. Anyone having the same issue?

(This just showed up and is not part of the image)

Tried a fresh install but the fresh install was already messing up before it actually was installed. So It is not the game it is the Launcher itself....

Couple of things you could try:

-run the repair tool
-Update windows
-redownload the client and then the game

All of these I have already done, and the fresh install still gave me the same error as I have already said.

It sounds me like a serious routing/DNS error particular to your connection. You may possibly want to drop disable your firewall... first try it on the Windows/OS side before you go dropping that on your router.

You probably want to speak to support directly for better help though.

Alright nothing has changed as far as routing/dns stuff, and i have tried completely disabling the firewall from all angles with no success at all. Support contacted me and basically told me to run repair tool again, but that did not work either. So at this point I have no idea what is going on.

Still no success from support or anything else..... Support wanted me to fresh install again and do some extra cleaning. I did them with no change...

Right Click on your Icon for MWO and click on "Run as Administrator". IF this Working you can setup the shortcut to run it as a Admin all the time.

if this Fails try Turning off the Firewall for a Lunch test. (windows Vista,7 & 8 all have them build in), If this Works you need to setup rules in the firewall to let MWO though when it is running normally.

Last thing I can think of is making sure your Framework is up to date.

http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=40779

You could goto your Add/Remove programs(Programs and Features in win8.1) find
Framwork 4 (on my win8.1 system it listed as "Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 4.0")

and do a Repair install if listed.

Yup all that is good, and I use Win7 because Win8.1 is the spawn of the devil.

Thanks for the tip though. Did a repair on current framework and that still did not work.....

Are you playing on a laptop ? There was mention somewhere by someone that one of the last windows updates screwed with the power saving features, making MWO crash or something ... you'd have to google around for it, I'm not familiar with those.

It's pretty much just shots in the dark by now ... sorry :)

Have you checked the power settings for your network adapter and other hardware? their was a Microsoft update that changed the settings to power saving mode. it did some wonky stuff to my wife's laptop. Go in to Device manager, Right click on your network adapter, select properties, go to power management tab, and turn off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". also check all of the settings for your other hardware ie graph card. also make sure that you have the latest video drivers installed and that you have installed a full version of dx9 win 7&8 come with the basic version.

Quote

Actually, you do need to install Directx 9c. Vista/7/8 comes with DX 10/11 and a base version of dx9. The issue is that MS does not include all the latest modules for dx 9c, nor are the DX10/11 backward compatible. Even a fresh XP install will require DX 9c installation for those updated modules.

DX 10/11 and DX 9c are located in their own subfolders, they do not overwrite each other. Programs and games are set to locate the necessary files from their respective location.

MWO currently utilizes ONLY dx9c files, thus the need to install dx 9c with either the dxsetup.exe (small file that downloads everything from MS) or the redistribution file (large file but useful if installing on several machines or need to reinstall to replace possible corrupted files).

http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=8109

Or

http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=35

You will notice that it supports more than just XP.

Most games that come on a CD/DVD will also have a setup to install the updated modules by using one of the paths. For other games that are download only, they direct you to MS to download (using that site's bandwidth instead of their own) and perform the installation, from a trusted source ( hehe Microsoft..: )

The power settings have fixed a few different problems. good old Microsoft strikes again. :D
