Same old problem with profile sharing among mechs.

I deleted the current weapongroups.xml and created a new one by firing up the client.

Next, I created a number of weapon groupings in game. Then I manually counted the number of mech IDs that were created in the new weapongroups.xml. To my surprise, there were missing mech entries. Example, I created 5 fresh weapon groups but only 4 mech IDs were in the new xml file.

If that isn't enough, some mechs are sharing the same IDs. If you change the weapon group on a mech that is sharing that ID, it will apply across ALL the mechs that are sharing the SAME ID.

Next, I repeated the same process with a fresh weapongroups.xml and confirmed that some of my mechs are indeed sharing IDs.

Deleting the current weapongroups.xml doesn't seem to resolve the problem.

this probably indicates a bug in the mech ID creation process when you buy a new mech? I've found this weapon group problem prevalent on my more recent mechs, older mechs doesn't seem to have this problem.

Not for my case. My problem is mech bay 10 and bay 15 (a very very old mech) actually share the same profile. However, I think it's not a bay problem, it's really the case of the SAME MECH ID being shared which shouldn't be the case.

Not for me either. For example, my AWS-9M, AWS-8R, and JR7-F are all now sharing weapon groupings, and I have owned all of these for months, the Awesomes for over a year.

Yeah I dunno what the fundamental issue is. But its a problem that recurs, regardless of how many times you set the weapon groups up, I have 23 mech bays and when I switch between mechs 20 and 21 their weapon groups are all blown away with all weapons being in group 1.

If you happen to own a mech that is currently on trial, and play the trial mech it cant seem to differrentiate between that trial mech and the mech you own. I haven't ever owned two of the same mech but I can only imagine that screws it up too. Clearly they need to change the way they are saving these weapon groups, what they got now is fubar.

Yup, it's very irritating.
