It's been around forever and PGI has consistently failed to either do anything or even comment on whether it's a no-no.

Would love a video of this. Seriously... I want to see it. If they kill me doing it I'll be laughing too hard to care.

We had a LRM boat Stalker riding an ECM Cicada in Caustic Valley last night. The Stalker was untargetable, unhittable, and would disappear and reappear almost like some kind of frame rate hack.

They used it to basically run the stalker around at extremely high speed and fire massive volleys of LRMs at us without us being able to hit the Stalker (unhittable / untargetable) or Cicada (who was always under cover).

Funny thing is that despite this, we still won 11-12 (the stalker ran out of ammo finally).

Many of us took screenshots (I'm at work, I'll post some later) and reported the players involved.

This is a wonderful example of why knockdowns should be implemented. Of course, you deserve to die if you cannot hit a target that big...

The Highlander won't be able to hit anything. He'll constantly be warping up and down.

Though I suppose it does allow you to get to places faster..

In our game I cited above, you could fire all day at the Stalker and not hit it. It's like the game literally didn't realize it was there. Lasers, ppcs, acs, etc passed right through it, even when the Cicada it was riding was stationary.

I want to see this. I remember back in the day when people were riding Streak Cats (remember those?) around on top of Atlas D-DCs. That was hilarious

Saw this some back in the old 8-man queue. You'd get a team of 4 ctf-3d riding cicadas or ravens to get to your base very fast where they would dismount and have a strong force capping you out fast. The mech on top tends to clip around a lot and is nearly impossible to hit but also it can't really shoot much. If the whole stack stands still there isn't much clipping.
We didn't have Highlanders yet when I saw the match mentioned above. The Devs have been informed of this and have made some attempts to fix but I don't think anything has really worked out.

Was on the same match. Highlander was riding a locust on forest colony. The hgn was lagging all over the place.

Hgn Pilots name was dire wolfie.

See I think if you do that you should automatically win the match, just like you do when you build a Wonder in 'Age of Empires'.

Players have been doing this ever since Knockdowns were taken away 1.5 years ago.

Its a great way to move Cataphracts/Highlanders/Victors around the map quickly and snipe things to death by riding jenners, cicadas, etc.

Interesting. I guess I have never encountered this, so I would not know how it behaves.
