First I would like to apologize for my bad english, I am not a native english speaker.

When browsing the forums I found an interesting thread about a take on weapon convergence:
http://mwomercs.com/...s/page__st__140

However I think that less drastic changes would still keep things more interesting.
My changes would be to add 2 more convergence points left and right of our crosshairs for weapons in the left and right torso respectively. Arm and center torso mounted weapons wouldnt change from what we have right now.
After holding lock on a targeted enemy for 2 secs ( just my opinion) crosshairs would turn golden and all torso weapons would use the single center convergence point. You cannot loose the lock as long as you can keep the enemy mech targeted.
This means that if you want to snipe/poptart you should concentrate on weapons mounted on your arms and CT because they are already somewhat converged.

This would also give the targeting computer that will come soon a nice effect, it could reduce time to achieve a golden lock to 1 sec.

Overall I think a change like this would be healthy for the game and make the game a little bit more battletechy fluffy. The numbers are just random numbers and can be changed to whatever is balanced.
Thoughts on this?

Edited some spelling errors...

1) Your English is better or as good than half the posters I see.
2) That would be a very interesting mechanic to play, and could be fun.
3) PGI will never do it because they've said the convergence issue is closed. Period.

Everyone will fight this and say that "where I point my crosshairs, that's where I should be able to shoot!" But I think you are onto the right idea to add some skill in to aiming in this game. A jet fighter pilot basically has to "point" his plane towards whatever he wants to shoot. His targeting computer uses the tone style to lock on missiles. We all understand that.

But for convergence sake I feel that a small delay, like you suggested 2 seconds or so of reticule placement on your target in order to get PERFECT convergence would be a good thing to add. Outside of that 2 second reticule placement you would have some sort of cone of fire effect or just more parallel trajectories of variously placed weapons.

Dont misunderstand me, I am not asking for any randomness. I meant fixed additional convergence points for the left/right torso weapons.
Right now we have arm and torso weapon convergence points. I would just add convergence points for the left/right torso that converge on the center point after 2 sec.
Any weapons on arms and center torso will keep their perfect convergence like we currently have.

like the delay of a camera when it has to focus on one target and then refocus because the distance to the target changed. This would be a perfect solution I think. It may have been suggested back in closed beta but so much was lost/steam rolled/thrown out when they went to open beta that it is a good thing to have it said again. You want pinpoint damage you need to stick your head up for two seconds and risk getting hit by enemy fire in return, in its own way it balances itself. Good call.

btw your English is great.
