Hey PGI. While working on game modes how about a true hardcore mode. I think it would add a lot of flavor to the game. Here are some things I would like to see:
*Loss of Leg. If your leg gets blown off you fall. It shows your leg is blown off, you can attempt to stand but you probably wont.
*Heat scale disruption: starting with slowing movement moving to miss fires, wonky targeting, and heatsinks blowing up. Manage that heat. If your at x heat for more than y seconds stuff happens.
*True heatsinks. With the above remove ghost heat
*Recoil: Seriously the whole HSR thing was no excuse not to implement recoil. (Should be in all modes)
*Knockdown and DFA: Just bring it back even if only hardcore only mode
*Severe Leg damage from not freefall after Jump Jetting. If you use all your fuel on the ascent the descent should severly hurt the legs.
*High speed turns. If you turn your mech while going over 50% your speed on concrete you should fall and slide.
*High speed collisions with building should cause a decent amount of damage.
*High damage knockdowns. If you get blasted for x damage (more than 20 though) all at once it knocks you on your ass.
*Minor headshots on space maps are instant kills.

So basically you want them to rebuild the game from the ground up to fit your tastes?

No smart one. Its a new game mode, that's even less arcadey . Its essentially compiling a list of stuff a bunch of us wanted from the get go. Heck one or two things were implemented and removed. Also its just suggestions. You know those things people make from time to time. If we're not getting maps some new features would be nice.

Hey, be fair to CHLH. I happened to have read your post and thought the exact same thing.
You're ideas are not what I would call a new game mode. You just listed off a bunch of features that could be added to the regular game.
You also need to remember that each feature you listed takes time and work to get done, when they already have a list of things to do. Community Warfare being the big one.
PGI is also against splitting up the game player base into smaller bits of people who like or dislike some features and have their own sub-genre they play in. Just splitting up game modes is probably all they'll do, although I would like Clan vs Non-clan games as well after they get added (never liked the clans).

When I saw the title I though: "What a good idea, let's make a HARDCORE mode where you get to take any of your mechs but they will be locked to the factory loadout without customization possible except for Modules"

So basically, exacerbate the problems the game already has with punishing any but the most timid, uncreative strategies with instant death?
