For some, variety is the spice of life. For me, running around in a Jenner-F and pissing off pilots in heavier 'Mechs, is all I'll ever need.

More power to you then. Unfortunately, there are not many guys like you out there. Granted, I worded that quoted sentence a bit harsh. It should read "For some people winning is more fun than the game itself." or something like that. It's actually the same reason people cheat - because they can only have fun when they are winning. Not to set power gamers and cheaters on one level, but the principle is the same. Just that one bunch sticks to the rules while the others don't.
Ever wondered about those jump snipers? They come to a game like Mechwarrior to sit behind a hill essentially doing nothing than playing Duck Hunt. That's just their way of having fun, winning at any cost, even if that means playing the game in a way most other people would find boring.

From my point of view, I can't understand why people need to collect every mech they can and are constantly grinding new ones. Then as soon as they master it, they move on to a new one leaving the old one untouched for months.
It's called HOARDING or OBSESSION COMPULSIVE.
It could be neither or both, but the simple fact is... some people like going back to their

Cant tell exactly why, but it is some sort of relaxing, like meeting an good old Friend.

That being said I'm at a point where I know what my preferred playstyle is and which mechs I have the most fun with. There's nothing like getting back in my Hunchback after a long grind with another mech and because of that it has generated quite a bit XP overhead.

This is mechwarrior, not dress-up barbie.
People take weapons which are effective.

I'm not kidding. Your arteries have got to be plugged up by now.
No, he has to go directly to Osaka ASAP.
Post-drinking real Osaka street Ramen at 2am in the winter is a borderline religious experience.

Hot Dog OR Ramen... one or the other!

26 years together come August!

Ugh. No desire to wed.
Wed rhymes with Dead, Married with Buried, for a reason. Matrimony leads to Alimony, lol. It's not that I have commitment issues, I have merely committed to being uncommitted.

I see a man in search of the galaxy's finest...
He can't be bargained with. He can't be reasoned with. He doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And he absolutely will not stop, ever, until that Earl Grey is piping hot!!!!
(Yes I mixed them, sue me!)

This is also why I find competitive 12man play vs. top teams the most fun. Yes all the builds are mostly the same, and that's what really lets differences in tactics and skill shine through. Everybody is trying their best - no mucking around in SPL Jenners or AC2 Shadowhawks.
