You know it struck me that if I actually had 500$ to burn, I'd really like to by a gold khan mech, any really. Because to me, their value has increased so much more at the idea my team will tk me every game.

I'd play all day and let everyone willingly tk me. And I'll congratulate the lucky son of the gun who gets the kill shot, every game. Sounds like a serious amount of fun. I get a license to shoot my own team and the action starts from second 0. No more waiting, no more walking. And I don't have to worry about the MM giving me unfair odds, since I'll know they'll remain constant every game. :>

I somehow find that really exciting. Thoughts?

I think I understand the frustration many players have with many of the late developments or even things that have never materialized.

However, if someone wants to fund my gaming enjoyment by purchasing a $500* vanity item that does not give them one iota of an advantage in combat - I want to cheer them on.


I really don't understand the hatred of people who are willing to fund a game you are playing, these people basically pay for all of the other players who will never spend a cent that fill the queues and give you more enemies to shoot at.



(Actually its $260, since you also get the full Masakari clan package with it)

Everyone should just paint their mechs yellowish to really marginalize the 'uniqueness' of the gold paint.

That would be hilarious if some guy dropped $500 in a gold mech, only to be continuously surrounded by mechs of similar color.

The gold mech is not really a gold mech. It is a fuse. PGI knows that CW is behind schedule and underwhelming so by throwing gold mechs out there they effectively give us an unlisted phantom 4th mode, the "Hunt the Inscrutable Person Who Actually Thought This Game Was Worth $500 Of Support" mode which buys them time until the whole thing blows up. Again.

Maybe I should start a fund raising project. I'll buy a gold khan with it (largest donor gets to choose which), and every person that kills me will receive 5$ until the 500$ is returned to the community in full.

I congratulate the OP for have $500.00 to burn. Your doing better than me.

(note if you owe money due to a house payment or loan. I would strongly suggest adding that $500.00 on top of your next payment it will save to a Lots in the tail end of the loan.) But if you have no loans or credit card debt than please support mwo the us poor people can continue to play for free.

What I want to know is, if I shoot the component off a gold mech, do I get to salvage it? The salvage should worth more since the metal is more precious.

The problem is that the money they spend is NOT going to funding the game many of us want, that was PROMISED. Pillars of the game as originally promised disappeared, whole modules of the game (community warfare) are yet to even show up, and our money went towards making more monetizable product than features.

I believe that the anger towards person spending large amounts of money on vanity khan mechs is not jealousy, instead it's frustration, knowing that money is most likely being diverted or going to be spent in ways other than what we have been expecting/clamouring for for years.

I have an unpainted TT Timberwolf sitting on my my desk. to give it anything other than a gold paintjob seems rediculous now. In fact, I'm half tempted to strip all my omnimechs and just redo them

Remember, your exclusive 500$ Gold Clan Mech is just as exclusive and unique as the unique Phoenix Colors and exclusive Hotrod camo pattern that the PP buyers got.
