Basically, if it's stock mech related, people make a response to it in here (as well as creating a new thread for it sometimes too). The Stock Mech Sunday group also posted in here at one time, so... yeah.

As of late, I haven't been in the Stock Mech scene. I haven't been able to join on a Monday in some time, so I don't know the affairs of things. I know when quirks were introduced, Stock Matches were greatly affected. We saw a lot of decline when that happened.

Woohoo! A tiny bit of talk about stock option in private lobbies in last night's TH.

From that, it seems PGI thinks the stock community is "we want stock option AND NO QUIRKS, NO THIS, NO THAT, OPTION FOR TECH LEVELS" etc etc. And therefore is hesitant to take on a big project like that.

While those would be nice, I hope everyone who messages, Tweets, etc. to PGI about a stock mode please just accept a basic option to flip a mech temporarily to stock and back. No tech levels, no removing of quirks, etc. Maybe down the road but until then you have to keep it simple to implement!

I'd just be happy with a "revert mechs to stock" option that wouldn't alter your mech's custom build... No quirks would be a bonus. Tech level, not even a consideration (as I see no way on how to balance that, besides via player control/agreement).

Yes, but I think that would intimidate PGI away from it, since it requires much more effort than just flipping a mech stock.

Let's get them to do the first one, and we'll slowly get them to do every thing else, step by step. Instead of having them delay, and delay, and delay until they make a big launch of it with a lot of the features we wanted, some features we don't want, and still missing ones we do want.

At this point, hoping that PGI does anything to support the stock community is likely a waste of time. The absolute most we've ever managed to accomplish was lip service at one Town Hall, and that amounted to nothing. Honestly, as a community, we policed ourselves well enough to manage.

SMM was a good time. I miss it. But it's hard to see it coming back again at this point.

It does not need to be even full public quene. We can have parallel 3025 Stock Inner Sphere CW. Clans can have even they own 3025 Stock Clan CW. If I remember good in that time Clans was fighting each other.

Hello Stockies, got a new either/or question for you. I am looking for a new Heavy ride, so: Cataphract or Grasshopper?

I know that I only get two 'hoppers with level 1 tech, vs. three Cataphracts. My question to the group is do the benefits of jump jets outweigh the high heat of laser vomit? Yes the Cataphract is also laser-centric, but it does have the lower heat ballistic as well.

I haven't piloted either chassis except trial Cata in my cadet days.

Your thoughts?

Grasshoppers are a little one-note in my opinion, so I'd prefer Cataphracts.
