I am curious what it is like playing without ECM especially due to a discussion I posted on elsewhere.

ECM is not a big loss - everyone is on TS so targets get called out, especially for LRMs. On the other hand with those low armor values everyone is hugging walls and rocks anyway.

What is important are roles - we saw it today with the second EU evening (or as we call it "shoot kh0rn first"), if some of your mechs have an LRM10 or more, you really need a scout or those LRMs are mostly worthless.

But an AC20 to the leg of your scout mech is... well you can still spectate

There have been others with mic issues, it is best that you can hear us at least so you know the plan of whichever team you are on though.

Stock Mech Monday only drops Mechs that use DHS. So, not all Tech 2 is out. The Raven 3L comes with ECM stock and has single heat sinks so it is allowed in SMM (but runs with only 16/32 on each leg and moves only 106 kph)

Another fun filled night! The in between match time really went down tonight resulting in a lot of matches. Played 12 vs. 12 and 8 vs. 8. Really had fun thinking about lance pairings and composition. Pre-drop planning and actual in-game tatics were awesome. Biggest advice I can give from tonight is that having more than two stock mechs allows for your team to have more flexibility and allows for tactical variety.

By which you mean "throws out" mechs that use DHS? Or do you mean "drop" as in "plays with" ? Terminology!

Hopefully we're not ONLY dropping in Mech with DHS, haha...the list would be rather short then. I stand by my phrasing! lol
