If you're unwilling to revert some of your current mechs, then that's certainly an option. You'll need to play through your 25 games to get your bonus, however, since the trials are not allowed in the stock matches. The double heat-sinks are a no-no. Might be easier to take a lesser-used mech and revert that one to test out these games first before you commit. I recommend a Jenner F or a Hunchback 4G to get a good feel for these stock games while staying light on the wallet.

There have been a couple people who have started new accounts and played their 25 Cadet games giving them over 9 million CBills to buy relatively cheap stock mechs (depending on preference between weight classes). The main downside is trying to earn XPs for pilots skills, while running stock mechs.

Mediums seem to be the most popular choice (probably because lights all run about 50% armor, and heavies and assaults can be hard to fit into the weight restrictions, especially if it is your only mech).

Look at the master list to make sure you selection is allowed (DHS are a no-no, and some stock nights are teir 1 only, excluding XL, Narc, ECM, etc, even if the mech has single heat sinks).

Hunchback is a good choice because all the variants are viable builds in stock matches (HBK-4G, HBK-4SP, HBK-4H, HBK-4P, HBK-4J) and they will only set you back around 3.5 million a piece, which would allow you to buy 3 of them with your cadet bonus, which means you will be able to upgrade their piloting skills.

All of my primary account mechs are DHS (and Endo) equipped, and switching between the HS types is too expensive, especially since i'm saving for Clan mechs too at the moment.
25 matches with a secondary account are not an issue... getting XP for efficiencies is a problem, since first modding a mech for normal matches and then back to stock is kind of crazy... Playing normal games with SHS is practically impossible in my experience, at least with my style.

EDIT Thunderbolt would be my choice of stock mech. It is pretty cheap at 5 million or so. Don't care elite perks but basics are important, even if i miss out the doubling bonus.

Perhaps i'll stick with my primary and figure something out.
EDIT or perhaps i should activate my premium time. It has sat there unused for nearly two years. The game isn't in quite the state i'd be willing to use it though, nor am i sure i have enough time to play to get most of it.

EDIT uh... i forgot how expensive Clan mechs are. Ah, well, i might as well use my savings now then, sell what i don't use, and get a stock mech. And try to grind some XP.

EDIT actually, i think i will modify my Wolverine for stock games. The stock one is pretty good, and i haven't figure out any modified version that's good, so downgrading it won't cost too much.

Speaking of Clan Mechs, once they're released, will they be allowed in stock matches (since they practically always include DHS)?
Or will they be usable only in Clan vs Clan matches, or will there be some sort high-tech IS vs Clan matches (perhaps being 8-vs5 or something like that)??

@Empyrus,

We have been discussing this. If both drop teams decide they are allowed, then maybe, but I can't speak for TygerLily's rules for Monday.

The other Stock Events hosted through MechForce Classic will allow Clan Stock vs. IS Stock, such as my own.

Speaking of which, I need to know a consensus if people would prefer "Stock Eras" to be switched to Friday at the start of the weekend where more people might have free time.

I suspect i won't make it the next Monday's matches (assuming there are some), as i'm down to 500k C-Bills and can't afford to buy or modify any mechs at the moment (the plan is to revert my Wolverine to stock). Need a few days for grinding.

Yea, the EU Edition coincides with 1PM EST...so US players can get some lunchtime action. Then tonight at 9:30pm EST we'll be doing the US Stock Mech Monday. Lots of people on then as well! Hope to see ya!

Well, I am in Alaska, which is about as far from Europe as you can get - but as I am (currently) jobless and the house is empty...

Hope to make it!

Question. I know DHS are NOT allowed. But I have DHS on my Awesome already.

Can I "stock" my Awesome, by doing this? http://mwo.smurfy-ne...52d361d301cf493

It ends up with the same (actually a little worse) cooling than stock, but maintains the DHS upgrade...
