I wouldn't say that. It would take the clans about two to three millennia to fully analyze everything that's already there.

Long story short, YouTube automatic processing screwed the video up. All of the volumn levels were hosed. I had already erased my local copy before this automated process started, so yeah. Video gone. I'm not very happy about this.

So that means YouTube is either ComStar or the Word of Blake. Stock videos are just too much truth/awesome for Youtubes!

You might be on to something. I've got one video from Monday I've tried uploading twice, and both times YouTube has choked and died on it.

And if I may veer off-topic slightly, I'd love to see some of the Stock Mech crowd show up to the Scourging of The Locusts event tomorrow night!

As the night progress onward from our patrol, the rain clouds started to thicken above. Looks like another storm was about to break over my patrol sector. I hoped that no enemies would attack during the storm, but I strangely thought otherwise. If I was in the enemies place, this would be the perfect time to strike, during the dark gloom of the rain and night. It would limit sensors and visual possibilities, covering them in a cloak of darkness. It's what I would do.

I voiced my concerns to my lance, but seemed to have been quickly dismissed. These invaders hadn't attacked in a week since their initial push. It was almost like my lance mates forgot the enemy was still even out there. I guess I can't blame them. So far, my lance and I have been outside the engagement area, but my "trap" senses were itching. I knew, tonight, they would be coming for me. My luck couldn't last forever.

I plodded along in my 4J in the back of the lance formation. The rain was just starting to hit my Plas-steel view screen. A couple of flashes of lightning rippled above in the clouds, threatening to provide a big storm to break the summer heat. Leary, I watched the backs of my lance, twisting my mech to gain as much visuals as I could of the area behind us. So far, so clear. In my distraction, I narrowly missed stepping on a cargo crate below, thankfully my mech self corrected it's foot's path to avoid the obstruction.

Then, I saw it. A flash of light. "Sir. I see something in grid Epsilon Four. Looks like it might be laser fire." I reported instantly. It had a greenish hue like that of a med laser.

"Easy there spooks. It was probably just a flash of lightning hitting the hills nearby. Just stay in formation and continue the patrol." My lance commander informed me.

I shook my head to disagree, but orders are orders. "Roger sir." However, that didn't mean I wasn't going to stop paying attention. I continued to keep an eye out in the hills, but the rain soon became so thick and fast that it was difficult to see anything within two hundred meters in front of my mech.

Then the alarms blared. Someone had a missile lock! I slammed my reverse and ducked my mech behind a crane, breaking the lock, or so I hoped. I saw the missiles slam into the ground meters from where I last was standing, the explosions cutting through the watery rain, creating steam from the flash of heat. I barely had the chance to look to the rest of my lance, but they didn't fare as well as I had. Before we knew it, the fight was starting! The comms became cluttered with curses from my lancemates, and I heard my lance commander bark commands, trying to restore order within the lance.

Through the obscuring rains, I manged to spot an enemy along the hill tops nearby, my computer managing to pull a lock. I fired a quick volley from one of my LRM launchers before retreating to better cover. I didn't expect the missiles to hit, but it might buy my lance enough time to regroup and face the opponents.

Just had several excellent matches on Stock Mech Monday. Close, tense, tactical fights. It's cool seeing Awesomes being a major threat on the battlefield, and tanking loads of damage in a Thunderbolt. Even the lowly Locust has a place in Stock!

Enjoyed the matches - thanks for the drops.

History

Developed by Terran Hegemony scientists, these power plants first saw use by their armed forces in 2579. By the time Kerensky left in 2784, they were already widely deployed; the subsequent chaos of the Succession Wars caused the destruction of the last XL engine manufacturing plants by 2865. The technology wouldn't resurface in the Inner Sphere until 3035, when it was rediscovered by the Lyran Commonwealth. [1]

What we are playing when they say "Stock Mech Monday" is techincally mechs that would be around in 3025, 10 years before the IS redeveloped the XL engine and was able to deploy mechs using it.

So I forgot to tell OBS to pick up my mic while I was recording last night. Gonna be a little odd watching these videos when I get'em posted, considering my team is responding to me, but you can never hear my words. =D

Videos to be posted soon.

It depends on the loadout of a stock 'Mech, which are usually built with a specific purpose in mind from lore. The IS got a hold of new technology by the War of 3039 through 3050 and packed in as much new technology on stuff to make new, albeit rare variants.

Take an Atlas AS7-K, for example, which has a loadout that is meant for long range combat, rather than close range like the more common AS7-D. If you were to use the AS7-K in a Table Top stock game (or MegaMek), for instance, you would want to position it so it could fire its weaponry at long range to prevent the enemy from getting to close to it due to its XL weakness.

Another example is a Griffin GRF-3M, which likewise has long range weapons by replacing the STD275 with an XL275.

The Boar's Head, specifically isn't a canon design, but it can be used in its stock format on stock days if people decide they would like to try Tech 2 games. Normally I'd never add any such design like that to a game in MegaMek or whatever, since the Boar's Head loadout literally makes no sense from a canon build perspective (something like this makes more sense). The canon Atlas K3 and K4 equipped XL400's, but retained long range weaponry to offset that disadvantage (but PGI put mostly put close range stuff on that Boar's Head).

On Wednesday's you can also rebuild the Boar's Head into this canon design, which is Danielle Rondema's Atlas.

To Clarify:

Stock Mech Monday has both TECH 1 and ALL TECH Dropships.

TECH 1 Dropships are for games that do not use Mechs with AMS, Streaks, Pulse, ER, Double Heat Sinks, XL, Artemis, NARC, TAG, UAC, LBX, Gauss, ECM, Ferro, or Endo.

ALL TECH Dropships allow every Mech: Clan Mechs, and Tech 1 & 2 Inner Sphere Mechs.

On Wednesdays there is a rotating Tech Level (or Era) event and on Saturday's there is a "Tech 1 Only" event.

So in response to Plodder, your Tech 2 Atlases are allowed on Stock Mech Monday in the ALL TECH Dropships but not the TECH 1 Dropships. This week we only had games going in the TECH 1 Dropships (for whatever reason...they were going before I got there) and thus a Tech 2 Atlas wasn't allowed there. If games had fired up in the ALL TECH lower down in the Teamspeak channel then your Tech 2 Atlas would be allowed.
