Edit: uh-oh. One of the variants appears to be a Tech-1 version of the Prime. I'm not looking forward to seeing boom-Crabs dominating our stock matches.
Depending upon what ones they release, the King Crab 0000 is all tech one (which is actually my preferred one so far anyway). I'm going to guess that the mech only has the base 10 heat sinks? (Need to pull up my old TROs on it. I know I have them somewhere.) If it only has the 10 base sinks, it's going to be hard pressed to shoot the two AC20s at the same time without overheating. Most likely, it will be forced to shoot one or the other, excluding it's Large Laser when the fighting is close in. Not to mention it's slow speeds and maneuverability. I think an Atlas is going to feel like a ballerina dancer compared to the King Crab, but the Crab will be the King of firepower! (In public matches, it will probably be more capable of standing toe to toe with a Direwolf, not that the Atlas can't and all...)
I thought there was an LBx10 version of the King Crab. Huh. Must have been the LBx20 I was thinking of instead.
I suspect the variants we will see in the game is going to be the 0000, 001 and the 000. I suspect that the 001 will become more preferred by players for it's inclusion of actuators, which could then be complimented by it's already Gauss Rifles, or replaced with pairs of AC10s, or a "Jagermech" twin AC5, twin AC2s. People will use this mech as a ballistic boat. I'll probably blend it with LRMs and ACs myself, almost keeping them all stock, if not stock.
I'm so excited. Now I just need the Crab to be released, and most of my favorite mechs are in the game! (That would be the Crab, King Crab and Stalker.)
