Hey guys, any official dedicated comms in place? A server that will allow me to communicate with my fellow teammates in my match without having to join/make a group using a specific channel?

Nope. I'd go on, but you don't seem willing to get on the public TeamSpeak servers set up for MW:O.

Turn off throttle decay in settings

Yeah I'm using a Warthog HOTAS, not the keyboard, thanks.

Edit: as in an actual throttle, the decay check doesn't seem to matter.

Use auto-detect and not PTT

There are no official dedicated servers. Even the official semi-integratd app, C3, still uses user-made channels and no official channels.

Jump on NGNG's TS3, Comstar NA, or any of a large number of public faction-centric comms.

Thanks for the info on comms Redshift, the throttle problem relates to text chat (PTT also I would expect), I press Y and the throttle auto centres.
So was thinking I could jump on comms just for the basics, but not if I have to drop in a premade, nothing against it, just too casual for it.
Auto detect is great advice if I decide to jump on voice comms tho, thanks again.

The throttle issue is a known for those of us that use analog throttles. It requires constant input from the controls to maintain your speed, and by typing in chat your controls lose 'focus'. It's a known problem.

There are a couple generic Teamspeak servers, I'd look for them. Something like that is really the only option. The 'integral' voice comms (C3) don't work well, if at all.

I know what you are looking for - something like Left 4 Dead, where the voice comms are automatic and you don't need to find a group before hand. That just isn't in MWO yet.

Thanks mate, that's exactly it, log onto a voice server that auto dumps you into the group your playing with.
Bit of an ask with the auto match making I suppose but thought I would pose the question.
Thanks Buck.

It shouldn't really be that hard, I think every game Valve makes has it built in - TF2, Counter Strike, L4D, and so on - they all have built in voice. And I think that the idea was to get it so that C3 filled that void, but my guess is it's been back-burnered to all the other content out there. Especially since so many people use TS3, the 'need' isn't quite there.

What I'd love to see is a lance-only level of communications, where the lance leaders can talk to each other. I think it'd go a long way towards making it the squad based game I'd like to see.

^^^^ x10

Any plans for ingame VoIP? It would change my, and every new players experience dramatically.
I'm far far too casual of a player for joining a group I think. Like the OP, not looking for a premade either, but being able to listen to my pug (can't chat, lotta RL around me) would make me do the Humpty Dance.

Edit - not sure I would describe myself as a happy pugger. Doing this would go a long long way towards changing that though

Lol, yeah I even bought the Pug for the dash....tho he does fry occasionally at the hands of premades....lol...all fun tho.
In game PUG VoIP would be pretty awesome even to listen in, or add input where needed if so desired, even lance level would do the trick.

Honestly, with my group I just on TS when I jump in game...if someone is there, great, I'll either drop solo until they exit a match, or just wait a couple minutes. If not, I'll drop alone.

These days we rarely hit 12-mans...it's 2-4 mans interspersed with booze and laughter, lol. We don't consistently run meta, or assaults...though we'll confer. One of the most often phrases I hear is "I don't care...pick a mech and I'll match weight or speed."

I like relaxed premades...I like winning, too, lol, but I'm not gonna practice this game like it's my job to achieve it. I've just kinda fumbled my way into what works for me, more often than not :P

Not to say Pugging is bad, lol...just that not all premades are the way you think we are hehehe.

I'd like to second this. Not all units are what people think. We are not all "elitist" or "try hards" a LOT of us, just chatter away and have a laugh.
I'd reconsider your opinions about groups guys, we'd be happy to have you and setting up TS to talk to us only takes mere moments-it's NOT hard, give it a go you don't know what you are missing out on!
