Art Style/Direction. Yeah should have mentioned that too. PGI Art Department is really good.
I wonder how they would make a Wasp look like. A pity that's impossible (one can only dream).

Art
Visual/Sound Effects
Many much mechs
Many good maps (not all are to my taste)
The audio, visual, and conceptual (mech interaction) framework that they have built thus far are astounding.
With:
Addition of (internal) VOIP
Player Lobby
In-game financial risks/rewards
Rework to Information Warfare/electronics
Balancing of Weapon ranges (Ballistic 3x-2x)
(Smart) Collision
An invisible-league based matchmaking system
-----------------------------
Community Warfare
And a return to Btech Lore style announcements
Among some other things-
This game could be the end-all-be-all in the genre of bigstompyrobot/tank warfare simulation.

The In-Combat experience:
Nowhere else did i find such sensations: going from a cover to another under heavy fire, twisting my torso so i get hit on my weaponless Arm or Torsos, learning to master the movements of your Mechs (which doesn't react as nimbly as you want it to), trying to make this big can hold on until the end of the game while your seeing it's parts being blown away one by one, and bring as much foes as you can in the grave...
And the sight of a few Mechs launching an LRM volley in the far distance.
Right now, only MWO offers that. So i'll keep playing it until i find better, but i'm not expecting to find better anytime soon.

Short Version:
1. The Individuality of each cockpit
2. It is the most balanced Multiplayer of Mechwarrior games, and good core gameplay
3. The re-designs of the mechs
4. A much needed tutorial for new players
5. No other games like it (sorry hawken, you're not good enough)
6. It's a fun game to watch
Long Version:
1. My god, the cockpits.... From all the little sounds, visuals and whatever, MWO does an incredibly good job on making each mech feel like an individual. Sure other Mechwarrior games have made cockpits a little unique, but not to the extent that MWO does. Major brownie points to MWO for making the cockpit reflect the mech (except Griffin, but damn I love the sounds that thing makes).
2. Simply put, I like how you can take just about anything and do well with it. Sure there a few meta builds, but that happens to just about any game with customizability in it.
With that said, being balanced isn't always 100% good, there have been some other games where some weapons were outright underpowered compared to others, but because of their mechanics people would be very easily killed with them because of the sole reason that no one ever used them. However, I don't see that happening with MWO, unless there's some crazy battletech weapons I don't know about.
3. Excluding mechs that just aren't my style (aka they are perfectly find but they are rather boring to me but I know people that absolutely love their style [Highlander, Quickdraw, Banshee]) and making nit-picks (like the tiny equipment on top of the Catapult looks like zits. I can nitpick anything, even my favorite stuff in games), the only complaint I have is that Timber Wolf legs are a bit too thick. I just want them slimmed down a little (not saying they have to be MW2 in skinniness, just a tiny bit thinner)
Aside from that, I love every re-design in MWO. Which is quite an impressive feat due to how many mechs are in the game. I want to repeat myself several times due to how impressed I am with this, because this is a very rare thing to happen for games for me.
4. The tutorial does need to be improved a little bit, but it's good enough to get the job done. Not saying they have to improve it right now but it will be something they have to return to later on after all the important stuff is in.
5. There aren't any other games like MWO right now, making it very niche. I can't really imagine there being competition for it either. Closest thing I know of is Hawken (which doesn't interest me as it's going away from mech shooting and turning it more into a normal shooter).
6. I have a tendency to forget about the fact that I can exit during a match, it's just so interesting to see everyone's builds, and see how they play. Which is surprising because most games when I have a choice to do that, I usually exit right away due to wanting to get stuff maxed right away in any game (unlike most people, I actually stay on games I max stuff out in because I love the gameplay). I still watch till the end in almost every match (unless I was being an idiot and charged their frontlines from feeling overconfident, which happens when I do super close range builds on a heavy/assault). Watching people on youtube and twitch is also very entertaining. No Guts No Galaxy is fun to watch, but I'm trying to watch other people from time to time to get some different people to watch (not saying NGNG is bad, quite the opposite really, I just like variety).
The forums here are usually pretty toxic compared to most forums (most toxic of the 3 game forums I follow right now), but I blame that on Mechwarrior, and Battletech in general being older than just about any other game still going on out there. So there will be some nostalgia biasing going on, so it won't be possible to make everyone happy. Example: Timber Wolf legs are a tad bit on the thick side for me, I'd like them slimmed down a little (not to the extent of MW2, which is the first PC game I would play for years and it blew my mind). Someone new coming in would probably think it's normal for a Timber Wolf to have big legs since it's a heavy (even if it's supposed to be a fast heavy).
I like seeing threads like this pop up, because it's usually rare, even in "nice" forums. I know criticism is good, but sometimes people get a little..... emotional, and start insulting when they criticicize.
Luckily, people usually aren't as toxic in game, and goof around quite often. I still see plenty of ragers hating their team though (which is hard to avoid in any team game, especially ones that don't have instant respawns, and I'm glad it doesn't happen all that much compared to other games), but aside from that it's all good.
With all that said, I'm only a little bit worried about telling people to join MWO. First impressions mean a ton. I have a tendency to not invite people to PvP only games, since people usually rage easily from them, and most people I know love doing co-op anyways. Of course this has to do with the fact that I usually don't like to group up with people in pvp because it feels like cheating, I prefer to pug and make a game of how well I can get other people to help each other out. I know there's probably not any plans for it right now, but I've just been waiting for a co-op PvE mode, because I'm expecting MWO to last quite a while.
I do hope the devs keep working on MWO for a long time. I spent about 1600 hours on Global Agenda because it hit soo many things right for both PvE and PvP (it's actually the game that got me back into PvPing), I only stopped because it's annoying to wait 15-45 minutes to get into a 7-15 minute long match. It died because they kind of just ditched it to make another game (Tribes:Ascend which is another fun game, which they then ditched to make Smite yet another game I like, but at least they are spending more time with it than the other 2 games..... for now.... ugh.....).
I just hope they'll keep working on it for a long time to come, so it'll be unmatched for Mech gameplay, much like how WoW was unmatched for MMORPG gameplay for a long time (it may not get as popular as WoW, but the devs keep up the good work, they'll always have a community that will keep money flowing for them as well).

1. The 'mechs FEEL like 'mechs when piloting.
2. There's a decent variety of 'mechs...though due to weapon balance a lot just feel like cookie-cutters with different faces.
3. P2W is pretty much a non-issue with this game for any player with more than 2 brain cells. I appreciate that.
4. The ART team has done a good job...though I wish the in-game graphical fidelity hadn't been reduced.
Since this is a thread for positives...I'll stop there.
