With the game moving more towards CW, and the launch module coming out tom marrow. I think it would be cool for people to talk about their relations to their factions. Whats cool about them?, give us history if you know it. What factions are you gonna represent in CW.

Clan wolf has always been top dog in my book. They hit hard and are strong. they have had many successful campagns. not only that Natasha Kerensky was such a respected warrior that even in her death, her mech was left where she fell. Who has made greater warriors? P.s NK is my favorite figure of battletech.

The Black Widow was a fab character for a very long time.

Me I am a Steiner-Davion. The Steiners have the production and mass to make even mediocre Generals winners and the Davions have the cunning I like. Best of both worlds.

I admire the ideals the Kuritan millitary tries to follow, but they struggle with thier advocating of reckless bravery (which I am guilty of on more than one occasion), blind devotion to the emperor, chaste system and highly conservative nature.

I've been told that some of the depicions of Draconis Samurai are very (very) streotypical, somewhat being caused by being written in the 80's by an American author. But I can forgive them for that. The history for istelf about the House Kurita and the Draconis Combine is interesting, though the House itself seems to be rooted a bit too deep into an Edo period Japan reference. Well, we can work around that. A more modern House Kurita for a more mondern world. We can stick to some of the Edo priod stuff, I do appreciate the idea of history repeating itself.

I like Marik because even though it is the only one close to being a real democracy it has so much infighting that it keeps itself down even at it's height. If you want an equal with what is going on with Game of Thrones in Westeros then you need only look at the Free Worlds League. Some folks will decry that the Davions fill this role, but you don't have all the intrigue and backstabbing internally that you do with the FWL.

I kinda like the odd balls in storylines too so this fits the bill because as far as the clan invasion the FWL isn't as involved as the other factions are directly. The FWL is kind of how the US was before it entered the second world war; it makes a lot of the equipment and has the factories that are not in peril to produce some of the updated tech and send it off to the front lines.

Off the topic of lore I also stick with the FWL/Marik because they have the most friendly and unified house in MWO as far as I have seen and it is a lot of fun to drop with all of them when I get a chance.

I'm always with the under dogs - rebells and mad men.
In the current time line - without the Smoke Jaguars.... I'm a proud member of the BigMac....always loved them - grim determinated Mercenaries - that do what have to be done - and their hate vs Davion is fitting - (never like those polished - we are the good guys)

Same for the Smoke Jaguars - never a smile but a feral grin. No interests in hiding or playing "good guy" - we are bad - we kill our fores without remorse.

My pride - the 1st Skye Jaeger - rebells if you like - always ready to fight the enemys of Skye - may it be Snakes, Mariks or Steiners....always liked the camo.

And in the darkest place of my sould - I'm a true believer ... ready to enlight mankind and show them what for blood thirsty goods they called archon, koordinator, chancelor or first prince.... ready to wipe out that epidemic disease of human kind called clans

Free World's League (more specifically, the Principality of Regulus) has Mongolians. That's enough for me.

Plus I love the whole fratricide business. Marik Civil War events are always great to drop into. A drop of community warfare where there is none.

I like being able to drag out the A in Marik to Murrik. Then I just add a bit of emphasis on the K. Besides, the FWL has lots of money, which is cool.

I thought the whole point of being marik is that you can shoot everyone, no matter which team because thats the way of the mariks, right?

It's always a challenge if there're two or more mariks in the enemy team. You have to be really fast to kill them before they eliminate themselves...

The Free Rasalhague Republic is the little engine that could. After centuries of Draconis oppression, they break free and carve themselves a little empire... right in time for the clans to invade through their front lawn. They -still- manage to fight so viciously that they preserve a tiny little speck of themselves by the time the clans are stopped, and they earn so much respect from Clan Ghost Bear that Ghost Bear merges with -them-.

FRR is freaking awesome. Space Vikings for life.

I'm a true Kell Hound at heart, because they get to tie their storyline into Steiner-Davion AND Clan Wolf in exile. They get the best of EVERY world up there in the Arc-Royal Defense Cordon. :D

Wait, you are not going to outline the rules of engagement for this Topic, quineg?

I am perplexed.

Regardless, Clan Wolf. Yeah, the Dallas Cowboys, NY Yankees, LA LAkers and Man U, all wrapped into one. The ultimate bandwagon, front runner Clan. Them and House Davion, for the Inner Sphere. Shame so few pilots for either unit actually know or live up to said factions illustrious histories.

House Steiner and Clan Ghost Bear is where it is at.

Well, technically did Theodore arrange in one of his greatest schemes that they receive some of their old worlds back along with the approval of independence to create a buffer between them and the then more powerful Davions (IIRC) to prevent the Draconis Combine from being invaded, which would have lead to a great loss of territory in the fourth succession war, if not the collapse of the House Kurita. The Ghost Bear merge was a true act of badassery though.

As long as i represent anything clan wolf i will do my best to uphold the beliefs and the way of the clan. It is our duty to do no less.

The clan will always be something i look to with admiration.

I've been a Steiner since the first Mechwarrior game I played. The bigger the mech, the better. More guns, more armor. I just need an engine big enough to keep the cockpit warm on Alpine Peaks and I'm ready for battle.

I wrote an extensive fan fiction centered around my Steiner character so to change allegiance now would feel like throwing it away.

I love them all except for those stinking Liao's, but if I was really forced to pick one over all it would probably be the Ghost Bear's.
