While everyone isn't buying founder's packages, we'll be having our names listed in the MWO credits.
Pretty nice for a decade long wait. Only pay $120 once for a game you'll be playing for years to come, and you get your own inclusion into the credits...
That is a major perk..
But who read em really...
Its just bragging rights.
Its not really about buying the pack.. its more if i knew what i am getting to in id drop more so i would think its kinds like do i spends a little or a more.. darn wish i knew whats going on and have a voice to help it get better.. if i have that ill drop the big bucks.
I learned with many MMOS cough SWTOR dont trust in blind faith hence the prenup comment.
So what you're saying is, you're not a self respecting developer, you're a [REDACTED] passive aggressive [REDACTED] who posts [REDACTED] stuff in an attempt to... what? Get into beta? Stamp your feet and demand you get even more for free than the free to play game? $120 is _nothing_ to me, as a "professional". I guess your nobody website doesn't pay you very well if you're really QQing over spending it? Either way, I really don't care. I doubt many here do.
The founders pack is to reward people who are willing to support this game based on the genre/hype/etc. If you don't want to, don't. The product is on offer.
I'll go one further and say I hope you don't even play the game tbh, people like you should just be removed from the internet. ([REDACTED], trolololol) NB:[REDACTED].. prolly just this guy )))))

No not at all. I am just voicing my opinion. And the fact I think they did this stuff too early.. Now you and the above comment are being fan bois i am discussing why i am not buying it for their feedback.

If you call nerdgasm'n over it with your friends that also bought Legendary packs and were waiting 10 years for the game alongside you, then yeah, I guess it's for bragging.
I've never read credits myself, but this time my name will be in them
I have enough faith in PGI that i was willing to put down $60. thats what you would pay for a AAA game title, with maybe 8-12 hours gameplay. i can imagine that i will be getting far more than 8-12 hours out of this, so really, its not a bad investment from my point of view. What i have seen so far looks promising. There are a lot of people trying really hard to make this as good as possible. Granted we have less info that we would for a AAA title, but i still think there is enough there to justify the investment.
I understand the OPs point. It's a bit hard to spend $30-$120 on a game that you haven't even tested. But its a F2P game, you don't need to spend a dime to play. I've been very impressed by the developers and I'm quite willing to spend $60 even if it's only to try to support them (I'm strongly considering upgrading to Legendary as well).
I think if u pay money for the pack you should get a beta invite. I know people that got approved on 2 accounts and i am still pending.
Least they can do... The whole beta processes has been whack.

I am willing to spend it... But the random process of beta has left a bad taste in my mouth. which leads me to question how the game will be since they mid managed the beta processes. So forgive me if i am a bit hesitant.

This, I could not agree more. You're paying money, and not getting an invite is just wrong. A lot of other MMOs gives beta invites on pre-order, why cant MWO?
Heck even WoT goes into Open Beta before selling pre-orders...
As for me I'm waiting for the last minute before commiting. Supporting devs is one thing, protecting your investment (or your wallet) is another.
Look, In the age of try before you buy i aint buying till i see what i am getting.
Every Mech game has sucked. and never stayed true to the table top.
Also being a Professional developer i know the limitations of the cry engine, lets just hope they have a source license and are not doing stuff in LUA for the engine.
But i want to see and make sure i want to play it before I buy.
Its like a marriage i wanna know what i am getting into and a strong prenuptial agreement.
1> If you want tabletop go try Mechwarrior Tactics.
2> If you were a professional developer you would act professional and not whine. I made a post here for you. http://mwomercs.com/...post__p__378074 video plays here http://mwomercs.com/...post__p__387274
3> "It" is free. what your buying is early access potentially and some in game percs. You want the percs you can buy them later. You just wont get the mechs.
4> The fact that your posting on the forums already shows your level of interest. If you cant be bothered to play, you cant be bothered to post.
5> Having a strong prenup is not knowing the woman your marring. That takes time, dedication, and a willing ness to sacrifice. So does supporting a new game. Dedicate some time and Sacrifice the $ for the game. If you truly dont like the game don't play any more. Look at it like your buying a boxed game. I'm sure you;ve bought something and never finished it. Food, entertainment or some other activity you could not stay for. Stop complaining or i'll let Russ and Chuck Norris Leap in the air at you.
Dev's in the tan. Complainers in the blue.
I'm about to make this my new signature for people who ask for keys...

Closed Beta 2 starts July 10th btw, some Founder's Package purchasers will be added. All founder's package purchasers also get into open access when it rolls around August 7th. The devs keep giving you this information. With the bonuses of the founder's packages, you can't say you aren't buying it just because of a closed beta you weren't invited to.
Wait for more trailers if you must, but that's all you gotta do.
