So, I had a few great games earlier today while grinding XP on my Jenners. I ended up wolfpacking with several other light mechs and completely demolishing several teams that were heavier than we were. There is nothing quite the same as dancing madly around and past several assault mechs, jumping over and back across canyon walls, and swarming away in retreat when encountering heavy forces only to displace to a flank and pick them apart. I don't think I've had such fun in quite a while, even if I did die a number of times.

What in MWO gives you the biggest thrill?

Spotting a lone missile boat with no backup weapons when I'm in my AC/20 'Hawk.

Up coming HSR and missle fixes so lights don't have a force field :P

I was excited for CW until they started talking about how's it's useless and gets you a discount on something you can buy anytime....yeah that's lots of incentive, a %2 discount on a medium laser. I always imagined CW mechs would be destroyed and need to be repaired before you could reuse them...which would require control of a factory for clan ones yada yada.

Somebody in a SHD-2K shot me clean out of the air with a double PPC shot yesterday - it was pretty great. I had been harassing a flank on Canyon Network, and was just bugging out and *blamo!* I was dead. Had to complement the guy in chat!

Closing the game, I never know if it's going to crash or not :P

JK

I really miss running my hunchback 4sp with srms, hopefully the launch module + hit reg fixes make it usable again.

Making an annoyance of myself in light mechs. Never being sure if you're going to round the corner to find the back of the enemy force, or the front of it. The latter is generally fatal.

I like to stop and use my Seismic before peeking around "that" corner... :P

A solid duel with DoT weapons.

One in particular I remember was a spider 5D VS my spider 5K. It lasted nearly 3 minutes with no interruptions.

Things like that can be very enjoyable, especially when compared to all the FLD matches.

I enjoy using configurations that people would consider oddball. I don't necessarily boat weapons. I run slow light 'mechs (97 kph w/o speed tweak, I'm ready to wreck with the Kit Fox and Adder :P ). I run XL engines in some chassis that others may not even attempt to, but the speed or firepower I get out of those units is pretty awesome!

Honestly, I like getting chased or doing the chasing. Hide and seek is pretty fun. 1 on 1 is great, imo.

What actually is my favorite thing to do is find new players and give them target practice. You can usually tell after basing their reaction off. So then I go infront and try to give them some thrill with fighting a light and what not. I admit, I give them the kill. I like it because I feel like I'm giving them some practice in an otherwise unforgiving environment. And I can only hope they learned something and had fun at the same time.

Close games. Last 3v3 or so, all fairly crippled. Hell of a rush, too bad rolls are far more common.

Did that on River City Night with my AC/20+4MLas 'Phract. Took out an LRM D-DC and Cat A1 who were lobbing missiles from way back.

Any game where I'm a little banged up but still dangerous, our team is falling behind in kills, and I manage to get around a flank or into the enemy rear area. Brawling is very hard to pull off, but when your timing is good and your team has carried its weight, you can regularly do 500+ damage 4+ kill games.

Also exciting is being in a non-ECM light, being the last mech alive on my team, and playing a careful game of cat and mouse - where the mouse is looking for blood.

Being the last one left and making an epic last stand (ie not hiding like some do) and taking as many as I can with me, regardless of the mech im piloting. Seems most effective / fun in an assult or light however.

I really enjoy it when I nail a light and they just pop right there. Bonus points if they're in the air when they explode.
