I'm glad to be able to see more clearly. Now if we could just tweak the color filters so everything doesn't feel so monotone.


Private matches are flawed for me because we cannot use Premium Time in one day blocks.

Private matches are exclusionary.

If you want to play with certain people form premades and drop together.

Why would you want to limit your game experience to only certain players and be at the mercy of someone else's schedule, play style etc...?

The configuration options, even if they came without a gui button, were a pleasant surprise. I need to test them and the explosion changes to get a better handle on how well they work, but I'll give you points for those.

The "Rule of Three" imploding when it hit the full population is a shame, but I'm almost sad I missed jumping into matches with the MM going wonky. Sometimes a glitched out game can be more fun than playing it stable. Hopefully you can get that and the game mode selection worked out quickly, I'm looking forward to seeing how matches change because of it.

Unless you know... You either know exactly who you want to face and don´t really care to leave it up to fate or you might not have a set agenda but like to keep things very private... Like i don´t know a corp having a practise or tryouts.

Private matches are a very good tool added to this game, no matter how you look at it.

I downloaded the patch and now right before I get in a game a message screen pops up that says "Fread not all bytes were read" something to that nature. can anyone tell me whats going on?

I dont know what games your playing (with long qeues) I varied the mechs I wanted to launch and havent waited longer than 2 minutes yet (and 10 matches since match)

Perhaps load something besides an atlas and it might be quicker?

*Note* I havent launched an assault yet, but everything up to heavy is quick and fast, the quality of the matches has been fantastic as well.

People need to remember that most of the content put out by PGI will be beta level in completion that needs to be fully play tested by the community. If anyone expects perfectly balanced, fully tested features upon release from PGI, they are mistaken. Clearly this feature has major issues and Im sure PGI will be burning the midnight oil to work out the problems.

Also, this isn’t a “patch”..its a Major Feature. New features add major content while patches correct issues and update features. Calling it a patch was a mistake. As a major feature, the Launch Module will change MWO drastically and require patches and updates to rebalance.

People are justifiably disappointed considering how much this was hyped. Had PGI said, “You guys are our quality testers. This is a new major feature so expect bugs and be prepared to weather unexpected issues.” They would have a lot more allies and it would prepare their players / investors for the reality of a major beta-level feature hitting the community.

--Ran in a few private matches with some group buddies. Was a blast playing 4v3/4v4/5v4 while mixing and matching tonnage. My FPS was up by quite a bit as well with fewer 'mechs on the screen

--SRMs hurt a lot more now

Haven't attempted a public drop yet, probably be another couple of days now because of work, but hopefully the MM issue will be resolved by then.

WHY THE HELL AM I FORCED TO PLAY GAME MODE THAT REQUIRES MORE COMPREHENSIVE TACTICS AND STRATEGIES WITH PEOLE WHO HAVE ZERO CONCEPT OF EITHER?

I only wan to play skirmish for that reason.

The average player of this game are the kind who bunch up and push through bottle necks, and still does not realize what is going wrong when people in front of them are getting killed one by one.

And, I am expected more tactical coordination with that bunch?

NO THANKS!

Give me my skirmish back.

    It would not take that.

    You have people set up dummy accounts to queue with on a secondary PC in their house, or you take turns allowing one team to get "max c-bills" (remove arm, leg, other arm, then a torso, then kill with a head-shot, all while having UAV deployed and tagging and such for maximum rewards.)

    If I can think of a way to do it in 30 seconds, I assure you, others can come up with far better ways with enough time.

    Devil's advocate. What impact does someone exploiting private matches have on you, me, or anyone else not involved in the matches?

    Horrible patch is bad.

    Cant choose what kind of matches I want to fight in. Lots of disconnects because people are quitting because they dont like the whatever -- match, map, composition of the team. It is like 1 step forward and two steps back with this game.

    Yet another example of PGI pushing out something half done.
