Not only is it a start, but they can easily start tweaking this as they go. I'm hoping they expand it to 2-4 of each class, offering some flexability and ability to clear out the larger queues faster.

This is how F2P games make money. Simply having to have Premium Time running isn't that big of a deal. If they make it something separate you have to buy, that's worse.

Glad to see the launch module, hope it balances match tonnage a little better with the new 3/3/3/3 rule.

Cockpit glass toggling in the config! I am excited to see this option!

Hopefully (very hopefully) this will come along in a future update. So far the PGI approach appears to be incremental (possibly over cautious) updates, so once they know the basics work there should be an upgrade in the works. May be a couple of weeks/months away but I can't imagine it will never be in there.

Patching now. Fingers crossed. Feeling... hopeful. Activated my banked premium time, want to come into this new patch and improvements to matchmaking/SRM hit detection, etc. with a positive attitude.

Now to go shoot all of you in the face. Smile!

I'd like to have a bar graph or apercentage readout which class is the most used/unused so you could tell with wich class you have the longest or shortest wait time...

Considering that it would 1) tank their ELO/stats doing so and 2) since there's no kind of persistent economy in this game, can you tell me why the hell it would even matter if someone wasted their time doing so?

I haven't played many games that allow exp/currency gain in "arranged matches". World of Tanks doesn't allow currency/exp gain in training battles, hell, it even charges you for ammo and consumables. NavyFIELD didn't allow you to gain exp/currency in games in areas other than the official battle areas.

I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that most games won't let you exploit blowing your multi-boxed account up over and over again to farm currency..

I do agree that a social system is required. Even a basic one.

So when I solo dropped, I was asked Public or Private, but I never got to choose if I wanted Assault, Conquest or Skirmish.

Its not a start its a dead end. Lack of diversity means lack of tactical options etc. which in turn means lack of fun.

Name me any other F2P or P2W or whatever online game that doesn't allow you to only play with people you want for free.

On a more constructive criticism point, why can't we get some of these toggles in the graphics gui? We shouldn't have to use the user.cfg to tweak the game.

except if you both have premium you can set up a 1 V 1 match, so I'll set up a mouse macro to put me into any game you want whilst I head out for the evening/watch a movie/go to sleep and you farm me to your hearts content. And I'll even do it for the low, low price of $1 a time, so you can cover my premium time and I'll make a profit. I'm not losing anything from it and It'll give me $1 / 6500 MC a month.

And don't say "will never happen", as Real Money Trading / Gold Farming (which this is basically what it would be) happens in every game when their is any chance of something like this going on.

If you and your friends are so cool that they'd rather do nothing for 23/24 of their playtime in MWO to gain exp/c-bills at the SAME rate as they'd get them by just playing ... well. Best of luck, exploit it all you want.

So... about the ridiculous queue times we saw on the Public test server that you ASSURED us was strictly because of the limited population? Going on 6 minutes searching now. Did you seriously make this game so that I have to guess what weight class is most needed just to get a game? So much for piloting the mechs you want.

Is it intetional that you now can't select a game type when you queue solo for a public match?? I didn't see that in the patch notes

Hi, first post.

I'm prompted to post based on this patch.

Private matches are exclusionary, this will hurt your game.

This will lower your player base due to increased wait/matchmaking times and fewer players available for public/casual matches.

Your player base is one of your strengths.

I just tried to play and I don't have a choice of assault, conquest or skirmish anymore and after 5 minutes of searching I gave up.

I play Stalkers and they aren't suited for Conquest, I don't like Conquest because it turns into Skirmish anyway, now will I be punished for dropping out of a Conquest match if that's what I am placed in?

This is terrible.

I have been waiting for something like this for a LONG time. I have since moved on to other games in the interim while I waited, going to patch this and get back into some games. If I like what I see I will be purchasing some mechbays as a thank you to myself and PGI (well more myself, ive been wanting a couple mechs, the phoenix models I missed... the new light etc.)

Haven't played yet, but if launch module and srm's are fixed you will have earned back a player who left. Cant wait, see you in game.
