1.5 years of waiting for private matches only to get this ...
3/3/3/3 - restriction - inability to make a proper MM that balances teams without this - fail.
One group per team - restriction - inability to balance groups amount in MM - fail
No exp/c-bills in private matches - inability to prevent mythical exploits without killing fun for normal players - fail.
No option to change amount of players in free private matches - epic moneygrab - fail.
No social system whatsoever to find people for your private matches without 3rd party software - utter fail.
Your PUGwarrior online is bad PGI, nobody wants to play it. Trying to squeeze money out of people who are sick of playing with random individuals instead of their team in a team-based game will only lead to people spedning less and less. Its about time you realized that people are already leaving your game in thousands, good hardcore MW fans who'd stayed here long and supported the game if it was fun.
Some people...
You seem to lost every faith in the game, PGI and everyone else.
Why don't you just leave and stop ruining the fun for people here?
While he may be bitter and untasteful in his post he is right, and speaks for
a lot of MechWarrior fans. He is also a Legendary Founder so its kind of hard to see someone ruin good aspects to old MechWarrior games and lore just to increase what PGI thinks it should be.
A game developer that wants and expects the community to fund its game should not be making it what they think it should be; PGI needs to pay attention to their community and realize they
continue to lose sizable chunks of the people that fund their efforts because of poor decision making like this. Its okay to piss some people off almost no matter what you implement you will always do so, but PGI needs to listen to the majority and give them what they want if they expect this game to keep on going. A few examples of thriving games/developers because they add things and take things away because they
listen to their communities is Blizzard: World of Warcraft, the upcoming RSI: Star Citizen, and The Elder Scrolls Online by ZeniMax Online Studios. All of these added or took features away by listening and and implementing changes to items that the majority of the community wanted. (So side note: please get a clue PGI and realize if you ever want a shot of having a long term money making game you
need to start acting like these developers or you will drive your business to the ground and end up like all the other F2P MMOs that carelessly thought they "knew" better and are now making thousands a month and not millions).
The 3/3/3/3 issue is a very valid issue it doesn't even comply with lore. It may be a minor issue but still it is sad that you would take away from any kind of piece of the "heart" of MechWarrior lore even no matter how minimal.
The no exp/c-bills in private matches I think is a success, because you will have a lot of people just letting their buddies farm off of free kills if you allowed exp/c-bills in private matches. There is a possible exploit there and the lack of exp/c-bills in private matches is good.
The limitations of what you can do in a private match because you're not a premium player, sad attempt at a money grab, shows lack of respect for its players and community and very disheartening. But really doesn't make any difference to its community in the grand scheme of things.
No social system will hurt the private match aspect. We have the forums but that gets tedious and not all players use the forums. This is definitely a needed addition as well.
Finally, I don't know who you community adviser is or if you even have one, but he/she needs to be fired or get one!
