3 Extended Range Large Lasers for alpha sniping, and 1 Small Laser and 4 Machine Guns to DPM down anyone who tries to brawl you. Stay in cover while cooling off, but if you can't, then get in their face. I'm no pro so I'm not sure how effective this would be.

The left arm is purposely lacking armor because there's nothing in it.
If I ran it I'd probably have
Weapon group 1 - 3 ERLL
Weapon group 2 - 1 ERLL 1 SL 4 MG

Weapon group 2 has 116% cooling efficiency.

Features:

High Armor
AMS
CASE

3 ER LL (27 alpha out to 675m)
7.46 Max DPS
Ample Ammo (for MG and AMS)

60.5 kph

Splitting your build, doing it wrong.

Then why do lots of mechs with LRMs also have short/med ranged weapons?

2xPPC+lost of MLs fits on both energy-heavy Banshees. 2xPPC+1-3 big guns fits on the two that take guns. Those are the good builds. You want more front armor, less at the back. You only need 1 ton of ammo for four MGs, and 1 ton of ammo for one AMS. You can drop some leg armor as long as it remains close to your front side torso value. Avoid the maximum standard engines on any mech -- they are way too heavy for the small speed increase they provide. Some examples of useful builds: 2xERLL+6xML, STD375, PPC+2xAC5+2xML+2xMG, STD335, AC20+PPC+6xML, STD340. Due to slot limitations, the Banshee always brings the smaller weapons as backup -- too hot to fire everything all the time.

Ghost Heat is not your friend with 8 medium lasers.
No Ghost Heat
little hotter, little slower, better alpha, better range.

This one is good. Short range only, but good. Reduce armor on legs to 65 and add it into arms.

A few observations;
  • Those MG's are pretty much useless, you won't be able to aim them properly with the slow torso twist and torso pitch of Banshees.
  • You also definitely do not need 6 tons of ammo for MG's. Even if you have 4, 1-2 tons of ammo is mostly enough considering you have backup weapons. Also don't put your ammo in your torsos if you don't have to, put them in order of head>legs>arms. Put your AMS ammo in your head so it will continue firing even with half your mech missing.
  • You're wasting the pure DPS potential of 3E by ignoring the ballistic hardpoints and going laser-heavy. LL builds are better made on 3M or coupled with a single ballistic on 3S. You have the tonnage to fully utilize those ballistic slots, so use them!
  • Small laser is pretty much useless if you're not boating it in high numbers. Bumping to a medium will serve you better.
  • You don't need to fully armor your legs, getting them between 50-60 will give you a few more tons while still having "good" leg armor.
Otherwise I like the direction you take with LLs, just not on this variant. If you're into Banshee's I suggest taking a look at these:

Yes, I learned from experience after posting the OP that I don't need much MG ammo. Remember I don't have that much experience. I took a mech into the testing grounds, destroyed several mechs w/ MGs, and got bored before I could fire all the ammo into the air.
