Mmmm I was really hoping of the scaleability of UDK. I have this horrible feeling I wont be able to play due to insane minimum specs.

Well I told Paul I wanted underlighting for my missile racks. I think we may get lucky and have some damn amazing Need For Speed Underground 1/2 customization, I still feel those NFS games were the simply best in customization for your car... now imagine if you could slap decals on any way you want, paint each area, ohhh... I need to go change my pants, I just had a nerdgasem.

You and me both coffi...just think, we can make our unit camos with correct unit insignias!

doesnt look like that is the case

http://3dg.me/gamede...l-documentation

End users ( gamers that will play your game ) have slightly lower requirements:
  • Supported OS: Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, Windows 7
  • 32-bit or 64-bit CPU ( multicore highly recommended )
  • 1 Gb RAM ( 2 Gb recommended )
  • Graphics card with support for Shader Model 3.0 ( Nvidia GeForce 6600 or better, or GFX cards from ATI/AMD in the same generation )
Any bargain basement PC comes with those specs these days and that graphics card is only $150.

I think that this is a good choice. CryEngine3 will run on good settings for computers that are currently 2+ years old. It runs far more efficient than CryEngine2. Sure, some people were disappointed that Crysis 3's graphics were not as much of a leap forward, as Crysis 2 was for its time, but people also have to realize that the economy has slowed down the evolution of game engines/graphics.

I hope we see some screenshots soon!

That sounds good. I may not have to start selling pints of blood after all. When it comes to the things I love, I go the distance.

A lot of players of MWLL do not have kickin gaming rigs. They may not be getting 100FPS but they can play it at enjoyable FPS and MWLL is more hungry than Crysis. MOST modern PCs should have little problems running this game. I mean if your PC was made in 2004, well good luck with most newer games anyways lol

I'm right there... My heart pretty much fell out when I read this announcement.

It'll be a *long* time before I can play...

Very cool news! And I know my rig can handle the CryENGINE 3 fairly well so I won't be needing an upgrade to play hopefully :) .

Sweet the crysis 3 engine is top notch and also not as bad on system specs as the cry 2 engine. So hope yall that think you don't have the system power will probably be able to play. Low settings but hopefully yall will..

Start selling anyways. That way closer to release you can upgrade your system. Why worry about min specs, shoot for ULTRA settings.

Sell Blood and Plasma. You have roughly 9 months.... Go.

I had my doubts that it would be on CE3, but somewhere deep inside I was hopeful :)
I am so excited for this game !

I'm no expert but I am anti-console and a graphics enthusiast. So this bodes well for me.

Make sure you guys make good foliage textures, like Crysis 1's or Witcher 2's, then combined with HBAO it will look fantastic. And you can copy-paste foliage EVERYWHERE, just like in Crysis... there were probably 5 different types of trees,, thats it.
Since this is PC exclusive, you can make great high res textures (which isn't any harder to make then low res) (No memory constraints) And just scale them down for the lower end PC's which odds are still have many GBs of RAM.

Another thing that would be PERFECT for Mechwarrior is Parallax mapping, because you are so high off the ground, you can make side walks seem like they are 3d Geometry but it will take almost no performance hit. :D
I can't wait to see the depth of field and bokeh effects of Crysis 2 in MW :D

Bryan, May I ask why you chose CE3 and what made you change your mind from UE3 to CE3?

MechWarrior Living Legends I am sure was a huge part in their decisions making. :) Plus it is CryEngine... :D

So can we now change the meme from "Will it run crysis?" to "Will it run MWO?"
