Everyone has opinions among other things and here are mine in no particular order.
  • Maps - Everyone wants more maps. I want a specific map. The whole map should be dense city filled with large buildings. The streets should be relatively short, around 4 to 500 meters. This would be a welcome change to the large open maps like Alpine. Such a map would force shorter range encounters and provide limited sniping opportunities.
  • Weapon Ranges - I like the long range and maximum range mechanic but think the maximum range should be reduced to 1.5 times the long range. This would reduce the ranges of all beam and ballistic weapons. By reducing the maximum ranges it will more balance missiles by increasing LRM and SRM range relative to other weapons.
  • Mech Size - Right now the model scales are subjective. Each one seems scaled randomly to the others. I would like to see an objective method for scaling the mech sizes. My suggestion would be armor density. Take the maximum armor a mech can carry and divide it by the surface area of the mech. This will give a value in armor points/square meter. Adjust the size of the models till they are equal.
  • Base Turrets - Base turrets have promoted what i believe is bad gameplay. Teams sit on their base to use the turrets as extra firepower, base camping. This puts a team that actually tries to move and attack at a disadvantage. Make the turrets only function if there are no friendlies within a certain range to reduce the advantage of base campers. They will still deter a lone base capper and give warning/time to return and defend.
  • Communications - I would like to see a chat feature in the mechlab with multiple channels. Make it easier for players to talk and make connections out of matches. This would help form teams and allow better utilization of the new private match feature, such as issuing challenges and finding players to fill blanks in private matches.
  • Mechlab - Please reduce the extra clicks required in notification windows. These would be after earning an achievement you have to confirm again after it tells you the award has been redeemed and in the pilot skills after you have purchased a skill. There is no point in the second confirmation box on either of these since the only option is to click OK. I would also like to see the skills on mechs i no longer own, just to see if i might want to repurchase something that was partially unlocked and rage sold.
TDLR: I know my opinions are worthless and the likelyhood of them being implemented is close to zero.

2-3 times longer fallout range was not a good idea in the first place. The whole snipe meta would not even be here if the weapon ranges were default only. SRM will become very useful and LRM will then actually feel like long range missiles, as opposed to mid range missiles that it is now.

Too late now. PGI has gone too far already. Snap, I'm depressed all over again.

I cannot disagree with a single point. All good ideas IMO. +1 from me!

Sitting at base doesnt mean the opposing team is at disadvantage. After all, your whole team just sit there, while the enemies can free roam the map, chosing good attack position.

I think all the ideas are good except for mech armor density. It would be too hard to implement, and it doesn't fit canon at all.

I never really thought about the max weapon range thing, and you're very right, it is a dumb idea to have the effectiveness be so far. Decreasing it would help reduce the sniper meta and make for more brawling and tactical gameplay. Bravo!

You mean like every other small, nothing but cover map except Alpine?

It would increase the effectiveness of brawling. No thanks, i actually like using tactics.
Also, it would make no difference to LRM's as nobody fires them at anywhere near 1000m...mostly because of the map designs (see above).
