..now if I can save up 60 more to get them all before PGI takes that option away...

Catapult.

I've had a soft spot for Cats since my days in MW2:Mercs. The plan is to use a Raven as my primary, but since that's not a Founders option I figured I won't double up on lights immediately; a Cat will give me more room for error while I get used to how MWO plays. And it'll give me a chance to see how indirect fire works out from the shooter's perspective before I go out scouting and tagging myself.

Plus, as my go-to secondary mech it offers a nice change of pace from zipping around in a short-ranged scout.

(Also: Dat nose. Way sexier than the standard Catapult.)

well i was going to get the jenner then i saw the legendary pack so i got all 4

Damn excited. Picked up my elite and chose the Atlas. Thought about the Catapult but I dont really know a lot of differences. Last MW game I played was Battlemech: Crescent Hawk Inception so I am a little out of date and I may have been very young when playing that one

I chose the jenner. I prefer speed and agility over brute strength.
I think it will be a much more enjoyable and challenging mech to play.

before the legendary pack was announced i was going to go for the hunchback though it was a long hard debate for like 3 days between it and the atlas

I was originally torn between the Jenner and the Atlas (odd pairing, I know). I like the power of an assault mech, and unlike most I figured I`d fill in a more defensive role in it (since very few people are willing to sit around guarding the base, from my experiences). I also fell in love with the Jenner early on though, since it`s a great mix of speed, durability, and firepower for a light mech. Basically the choice was between my favourite light, or an ok mech in my favourite class. I couldn`t choose, but then I saw legendary, and had to buy it. PGI knows my weakness for getting all the stuff for twice as much .

P.S. I know I`m a Legendary, posting in a thread about Elites`choices, so sorry about that.

Coupled with years of being insulted as a missile-boater during previous mechwarrior games made the decision quite easy.

Atlas. I feel kind of bad about it because the Hunchback was calling... but that super sexy deadly skull design... and I feel like I'm just reinforcing the Steiner stereotype... does... does picking the Atlas make me a bad person?

(The answer is no, Atlases are awesome. But I will be buying a Hunchie with my hilarious amounts of in-game cash. )

Can you choose a variant, or will you automatically receive the standard variant?

Because I wouldn't want a Catapult C1, but I'd definitely shell out cash for a Founder's -K2 variant...!
