So I get a nice wireless Mouse/keyboard combo the other day. Hook it up, everything is working great all over the place. Get to MWO and the 2 thumb buttons don't register.
Checked Drivers - Updated
Checked other games - No issues
MWO - won't work
Hooked up old mouse, with side buttons - Working
Logitech mouse. Can't give exact model as I'm not at home, but if anyone comes up with ideas, I'm alll ears.

I use a Logitech mouse.
The way I use the side buttons is to use the logitech software to bind them to keyboard presses. Works very well.

Go into settings, keyboard and make sure you have weapon group 3 (or whatever you'd like) bound to the side mouse buttons. It should work fine.

It's bound, just doesn't seem to actually work when I press them. Might have to do that settings change to make them live. Thanks!

It's a Logitech M510 Wireless mouse. Tested again, sees the scroll wheel as mouse button 3, and works, but the side buttons don't work, only in MWO

Greetings all,
I also own a Logitech mouse, G700s, and to get all the functions to always work, I first open the Logitech Gaming software 8.52, then close it to the taskbar. If its running, everything works, if you have "bound" the buttons to in game keyboard settings. Also insure that you haven't changed the "profile" these buttons are linked to.
In most cases the buttons all go to default keys for Logitech, especially the side ones. With them controlling "back, forward" operations, and need to be "reassigned" or cleared. I specifically use a thumb button for team speak "push to talk" function. Works great as I don't need to look anywhere to push that button.
Good luck,
