Every Mech game has sucked. and never stayed true to the table top.
Also being a Professional developer i know the limitations of the cry engine, lets just hope they have a source license and are not doing stuff in LUA for the engine.
But i want to see and make sure i want to play it before I buy.
Its like a marriage i wanna know what i am getting into and a strong prenuptial agreement.

Every mech game has sucked, mmm ok. I think perhaps you dont like mech games. It does seem like a good reason not to buy. /boggle
That said this game caters for tight *** cynics by being F2P. So try before you ... dont have to buy at all.

The OP has stated his stance, please respect him for it.
The Founders program is a limited time offer for those who wish to purchase it, it is a great deal. However, it's also an act of faith based on what they've seen from PGI so far.
You are more than welcome to wait for open beta to "try it before you buy it" however the Founders Package will be gone by then. Perhaps PGI will offer some other package deal by that time.
As earlier posted, to each their own.
Cheers.

Awesome. It will be interesting to see what you do with the engine. Are you using the sandbox much to work or do you have your own internal tools? Maybe I am asking to much.

Every shop is different...and sometimes the range can surprise you. That said I've been software QA at single company, but I get to work with a lot of contractors. Hearing their stories about how each place does it's own thing makes me wonder exactly how mentally unstable they are to STILL be contractors.

If your not willing to take a risk and loose...then it strikes me that your also one of the developers that sticks to formula, rails, and all the other tried and true failings of the game industry at large. The WoW cloners, the Doom wannabees, etc, etc, etc add infinitum! Yeah...a sad state of affairs all around I guess.

Oh, so you write boilerplate code for an enterprise firm? Tell me more about how this makes you an expert on game development.
