Your marketing director should be hung by his testicles for leaving money on the table. Your missing a gigantic revenue stream by not allowing people to buy a premium time only package. Forcing people to buy mechs just to obtain premium time is isolating your customers.

I want to take advantage of the private matches but can't because I'm out of premium time. Do I want to keep buying useless mech's? No. I have enough mech, I don't need any more mech chassis.. What I need is for PGI to allow me to buy a premium time package only. How many mechs does PGI think people need? You can't make money unless you think outside the box. Make a premium time only package available and I'll be the first to reach for my wallet.

I would happily pay 500 dollars for a premium time package. Too bad its not available.

Uh... I have no idea what you are talking about!

There are premium time packages available ranging from single days to a year in length. You just have to buy them with MC. So you need to buy MC first, through the website, with real money and then use the virtual currency to get premium in the ingame store.

You CAN buy premium time only dude...you do it in the in-game store. It's under BOOSTERS.

Duh.

Five hundred dollars is like almost 5 years of premium time BTW. I doubt the game will last that long.

took me a while to realize boosters=premium time as well, so no worries

don't waste time buying more than a month's worth of premium time at a time though - did the math last night and buying 6 months worth of premium is the equivalent of buying a 30 day package for the price of 28 days, which is not worth the risk of buying that much time at once

Let me be very clear. I do not want to buy MC just to buy a booster. I want to buy Premium Time without having to buy a booster/MC.
DUH.

Why would IGP want to let you do that? The stepped prices of MC are meant to make sure you have some left over and you keep on buying. That would be pointless if you could buy premium time straight away. What you're suggesting helps only you, and not them.

PGI taking my money for a Premium Time only package benefits me? Your rational is illogical and flawed.

Why doesn't PGI allow us to buy a map package? I would gladly pay for a package that includes 5 new maps. Why can't I support this game by purchasing the content and features I want. Not spoon fed content and bullied into buying MC to buy a booster to buy premium time. Piece meal it all out and the bank will explode.

It's much more profitable for them to do it the roundabout way, and it's clear they think that demand for premium time isn't so elastic as to merit more sales if it were offered directly.

So the complaint is that you have to buy in-game currency instead of buying directly what you want... Yet you claim to be willing to spend $500 on it, so I just don't understand. Why not just buy the MC and with the MC buy the time? I don't understand why not ... unless its about poor exchange rates and the fact that one has to pay a conversion fee on top of MC then I understand.

Actually the way you put your OP was rather confusing because you made it sound like you had buy mechs to get Premium Time, but this post makes it clear: You want a one step Premium Time purchase without buying MC to then buy Premium Time in the Store.

Yeah, I could get behind that. A straight subscription option would work and would make things a lot simpler/straightforward for folks that want to keep their Premium Time rolling.

your OP was very confusing so don't put down others for your inability to communicate properly. you NEVER have to buy mechs with MC and has nothing to do with what you'r asking for so it's inclusion in your rant led everybody in the wrong direction

He's probably sorely confused since the WEBSITE does not allow you to buy premium time, if you didn't open the game client and go to the in-game store you could easily be led to beleive the only item for sale is the clan mech preorders.

Buying currency prior to making in-game purchases means they keep down the volume of real-dollar transactions, which have a fee. if you paid out of your credit card for erach individual purchase of premium time (a relativedly tiny purchase, usually ony a few dollar's worth at a time) means a large volume of real-dollar trandsactions which means more fees, which means costs and overhead go up. This is also why they can offer better MC costs at higher tiers, since it means even fewer real-dollar transactions if you buy larger amounts of premium time.

You make one up-front payment to buy MC (with larger packs giving better deals), then you can make many more smaller purchases in-game with your MC. This is industry standard for free to play games.
