Ctf-4X Brawler Thoughts

I'm thinking of investing in the 4X to run some brawler builds. (I've already got Jaegers for high-mounted AC boating fun)
Anyways, here's what I want to try first. What are your thoughts? Think it's worth it to ditch a ton of ammo and shave some armor to put in an AMS?

STD 250
2 LB10X
2 Mlas
2 Machine guns
1 LRM5
432 armor
Okay, been running this to grind xp. With the low-slung arms, I'm finding that more times than not, I was tired of having to expose myself so much as a fire-support mech, and I was also losing side torsos too easily if I got caught out of position by the other teams ballistic/ppc dudes.
I changed my strat, and decided to focus more on brawling, but I added an lrm5 with one ton of ammo to farm assists and also to distract people. Many people are conditioned to instinctively dive for cover the minute they see the incoming missile warning, which gives me extra time to move to a better position with my slow speed.
And it can zombie a bit, especially if you put the lrm ammo in one of the legs.

It just seems like on most maps, it's easier to find a hill to hump than a corner to hump, making it much easier to find a superior fire position in the Jaeger.

Yes, AMS is worth it. 3 tons is sufficient for an LB-10/X. This is how I run mine when in that configuration. I also run it with dual-Gauss and quad-AC/5.
Dropping the MGs and running normal AC/10s could work better for range, but I wouldn't go with the LL. Get CASE and ammo in each side torso, MLs in the CT and AMS since you're so slow. If you don't have a 255 standard just put that towards leg armour.

I'd also add the triple uAC/5 build to that exception. It's close, but the extra 5 tons of the Cataphract means an extra couple of tons of ammo (or armour if you want to strip some off the Jager for extra ammo), which can make a big difference. There's been more than a few fights where I've run dry even though I carry 10 tons of ammo.

I go 2xAC10 and LPL. The builds are quite similar.

Drop back to 250, move ammo to arms and grab 1 more ton of AC 10 ammo is also an option
or this if you really want AMS:

I've run similar builds, and with only 2x MLAS you really don't need any external heatsinks.

Also of note, with the predication towards short range and crit-seeking weapons (LB10-X and machine guns as main loadout), you should consider just hanging back in general until about the six minute mark or whenever else the fight is half-done- then those shotguns and rattlers will absolutely ruin segments of enemy 'mech by destroying all weapons and equipment. The suggested LRM-5 can help with that, by giving you something to do during the long-range early stages other than twiddle your thumbs and wait.

STD 200
2xAC5
2xMG
LPL
SRM4
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8e2fcb2fb6d73d2 (spread armor and ammo as you like)
I've gone on murder sprees at the end of matches in this build with 4+ kills in the span of a minute, 7.15 sustained dps = gg when you're 7 minutes into a match (and you finally waddled up to the fight all nice and fresh)
Don't get caught in the open vs. lights or lrms though...

I just have double heatsinks, But no endo..(just never spent the money on it,, Maybe one day.. But if i did add that you could drop a Streak+Bap i think, Or SRM in the head, Or a bit more ammo, Or even toss in a Narc.. Nothing like brawling, and tagging something with a narc, and let your buddies rain down the LRM's to help ya a long. Maybe one day i will experiment a bit more.. but i got modules to save for now, and as is, the mech rocks pretty darn good. I guess you could also use that extra weight, to swap to MPL's and a heat sink, but you would be lossing a bit of range for more up-close damage.
But as it is, it runs pretty darn good, one of my favorite mechs..
the best part, if ya map Q and E as right and left arms.. you can single shoot them around corners and hide pretty darn well.

Not only are you going as fast as possible, you've got CASE, AMS, heat efficiency, and good DPS(7.82), with crit capability, and basically full armour.
Almost all your weapons have fast cooldown (or none).
This thing lasts for YEARS in brawls.
Oh, and i have my Weapons mapped;
Left Mouse, Left UAC5
Right Mouse,Right UAC5
Q, Both Machineguns
Middle Mouse, Both Medium Lasers
Left Shift, SRM4

Too much SRM ammo, no need for those extra DHS and not enough uAC/5 ammo. Also, if you've got CASE, why are you putting ammo in your legs & arms?
