Does that mean the people doing the maps are doing something else now?

They have 2 maps in the pipe that need finishing but all those guys are working on the clan mechs, afaik.
so yes, one thing at a time.

Those thirsty for something brand new may be pleased to hear our new Hero Mech of the month will be coming out.
It's the Urbanmech, isn't it? It's okay, you can tell us.

Can you give us some feedback on why it looks like it will be 6 months without a new map? I know you have some in development, but with the existing maps and map resources available, it shouldn't be impossible to come out with new maps every month.
Even if they are reusing buildings and trees from older maps. I mean we've seen what people can do with the engine, so you can't act like maping a map is as difficult as Bryan likes to make it out to be.

As is typically the case for Hero Mechs, we tend to focus on limited edition variants of existing chassis.

Is that a hint? Maverick is an awfully suggestive word. I think it's a hint. Of course, there are only four non-phoenix mechs without heroes; I'd bet on the Quickdraw, if I were to assume the name Maverick. It's just got a wild-west feel to it that fits!

I figured the patch notes are probably up there in full, but I just can't bear to go back to either r/MWO or r/outreachhpg. Both are as bad as each other, and I would never wish upon anyone the displeasure of having to read either.

I've already heard rumors of nerf from Paul, so I can't say that "nice things" wouldn't come with a terrible caveat.

Yeah, I heard the same; in Helmer's excellent Dev tracker the following was posted though:

Worst thing that could happen is that SRM reg is finally fixed and then they're nerfed into uselessness again.
Russ Bullock
there has been no nerf. We're just being watchful on fps when reg improves
So hopefully Russ overrules Paul and we actually get functioning SRMs that are worth using. It seems too far-fetched to hope for, though.

Russ does not hold the "Game Balancer" title. Then again, Russ has been known to "not know" what's going on at times. I tend to believe Paul when he speaks of incoming nerfs.

I guess trying to land meaningful damage with shotgun-scattered, max-range-capped SRMs doesn't count as a "trickshot" in Paul's world
