If you own a 733C there is no reason to use any of the other Highlanders. Accept no substitute.
I do and have always run my 733C with two jump jets. It is still brutally effective. I can't jump as often, but... the best poptarts aren't jumping fools, anyways.
We use other techniques... like slicing the pie, side-poking, ridge hump bobbing and more... while pushing nonstop.

733C can't do 3 PPCs....
I've been trying out the 732 with 3 PPCs + Gauss, and I've actually been having a ton of fun with it. You can't alpha more then once without waiting a while because of ghost heat, but when that whole first alpha hits its pretty epic, and you can follow up with a gauss + 2 PPC combo as soon as it recycles. although sometimes I swear it doesn't do as much damage as one would expect from all those weapons.. hit reg maybe? I dunno, but it any case I have been driving it more lately then the 733C.
Yeah the 733C UAC5s are nice, but its not as fun to use as the Gauss/PPC combo.
And yeah you can live with 2 JJs no problem on a Victor or CTF, but the HGN I like to have a little more. 2 is workable but 3 gives me the height to make up for the painfully slow thrust.

Yeah, it's all because of Paul. I just don't understand it. I mean, I'm a pure numbers guy both in my job and just how I view the world. Math breaks down everything and prevents emotion from making you weak. But, there has to be balance in what they're doing. You can't have a shit variant thinking that adding 6 more JJs will make it better. You can't have a variant more guns vs. the other because you think 10 degrees pitch and yaw per side are enough to mitigate the offensive impact.
It just doesn't add up.
It just doesn't add up.
At the end of the day "Because PGI"
Remember these are the same people that looked at how autocannons worked in every single other mechwarrior title and decided "Nope. Making it one big slug is more balanced. There can be no possible reason that it was setup the way it was before!"
Same with the heat system

My natural reaction to this response is "Thanks Paul".
However, I'm not sure what emphasis should be put here.
1) Saying it "nicely", except it wouldn't be genuine,
2) Saying it "sarcastically", but that wouldn't change anything.
3) Saying it "with confusion", and that would be reality.
Sad.
