Refer to 13mins:
Cough.. Pgi! Cough! It kinda funny that you were surprised that newbies didn't know how to how play your game... When there was no in-game tutorial.. Cough!...

Thought I kinda wonder if SC:AC is going to have a tutorial... You got black out.. red out from G forces... two different way of manoeuvring your ships... *that de-coupled mode.. Yikes !
I believe WC4 already had something similar using the Dragon... But I don't recall being able strafe in that state though...
Going to be crazy..

Star Citizen public universe won't be out until mid-2016. Alpha for the PU won't start until the end of 2015 (assuming no delays, and good luck with that).

FPS in Q42014
Squadron 42 PVE Q22015
Persistent universe Q42015
Full Concept Integration in 2016....

So I get a Space First Person shooter with better graphics and development in 5 months rather than what PGI has promised to deliver in 2 years?

Hell yeah and only for 129 bucks starter investment

Umm... the *alpha* will start Q4 2015. If they have no delays, and as we've already seen they are not even remotely immune to delays (as the DFM is on its third one so far).

Oh, I'm super excited about SC. And knowing that I have 2+ years before I have to worry about splitting my time up between MWO and SC also makes me happy!

My Hangar is getting a bit cramped, what with my Connie, Cutlass and Hornet!

To quote all those who say similar things (to what Heffay said) about MWO:

Does it make it any less true?

Nice GiF by the way. ;)

That's an incredibly well done site! Thanks for posting it.

DFM is tentatively scheduled for late May, so let's see if they can hit this deadline. :D

In the most recent 10 for the Chairman, CR provided this production and release outline without dates (very wise CR).

ALPHA:

1) DFM v1 (single seater ships only) [[ not discussed in the vid is that only the Hornet will probably be playable in first release ]]

2) DFM v1.5 (single seater ships only) [[ Aurora, 300, Avenger]]

3) DFM v2 (multiplayer ships) [[ Freelancer, Constellation, Cutlass, and possibly Idris - and Vanduul Scythe ]]

4) First Person character Combat on an Abandoned Mining Colony

BETA:

5) DFM v3 (Dogfighting with Boarding other Ships) [[ and possibly Idris + other ships ]]

6) Planet-side Module

7) Squadron 42 (first 10 episodes)

8 ) Persistant Universe (1 to 2 systems) [[ not discussed in the vid but probably Sol and Terran Systems ]]

9) Squadron 42 (episodes 11-20)

10) DFM v4 (More ships available)

11) Squadron 42 (episodes 21-50 ) [[ Squadron 42 will be completed before the launch of the PU ]]

12) DFM v5 (More ships available)

LAUNCH ....

BTW, someone on the SC forums posted this from an interview at CCP's Fanfest:

"on Fanfest we asked CCP Soundwave if CCP is afraid of SC.

Quote:
Dude are you kidding? We shit our pants, hope it will fail."

With that said, will PGI ask them how they managed to do it so we can have collisions too?

Star Citizen is still vaporware.

I consider Star Citizen like those Dot Com startups from the early 2000's. It's been really successful at raising venture capital, but until I am logged into the game and playing it, it might as well not exist.

If you remember as a founder already had them but they were removed cause of the troubles they caused. Mostly people complained cause they got knocked down and then sh*tkicked

And SC doesn't technically have much of anything right now, but loads of money, and a lineup of people waiting to give CR a handy

Are you talking about just plain collisions, or actual knockdowns? MWO forumites have a bad habit of using the two terms interchangeably even though they mean different things.

I'd take either at this point instead of this weird warp we get now.

Getting knocked down was a pain. Collisions would be nice but as many problems as it could cause, its something that would need to be putoff until after all the other stuff were waiting for,

MWO's issue with knockdown is not with the collisions themselves, but the rag-doll physics after the mech starts to fall.
They'd need to replace the non-deterministic rag-doll with pre-determined set of falling animations that are simple to run on the server side.

Whenever I hear about SC it goes like this...

"Will SC have X feature?"
"Not only will it have X, it will have Y, Z, and A as well!!"

Sounds a bit Battlecruiser 3000AD to me...

I don't know if any of you watched the Dogfight reveal during PAX, but there was a clear moment when CR smashed his ship into a station and it got destroyed. So even if it's still early in development (please, define vaporware before you abuse the word), they clearly have a working collision state. It'll have to be tested, but the whole point of the Scythe ship "knife" shape is to actually ram other vessels to damage them.
