I love Legos. I also love the original Clan omnimechs. I've made models for eight of the original 16 Clan omnimechs so far, and true to their form, they are configurable (Legos certainly make it easy, I'm sure that's where Clan Coyote got the idea for the very first omnimechs!).

If I built these models in real life, they would need bracing as I have designed them with free-moving pin joints. I'd brace them up with clear bricks so that they don't detract too much from the model.

As of this post, I have only made the Mad Dog in real life. I'll get pictures of that up at some point.

I'm not interested in posting instructions for these models at this time, in case you were wondering. I would just like to share what I have created with the Lego Digital Designer.

I have previously posted some of these designs on the BattleTech forums.

To celebrate the recent display of MWO's Warhawk, I present my LDD rendition of the Warhawk, in its primary configuration.

One of the great hammers in the Clan arsenal, the 85-ton Warhawk complimented the 100-ton Dire Wolf in the Clan Smoke Jaguar touman. Code-named Masakari by the Draconis Combine underworld, after a medieval axe, the name fits, as this strikes with deadly accuracy in all of its configurations thanks to its targeting computer.

This model took 1,136 bricks to make.

I've been visiting that site periodically for years! There are some neat models on there. Every now and then when I was designing my Lego omnimechs, I would go on there for some ideas.

Yeah same here. Too bad he hasn't updated anything on there in years.

I saw that someone else had a Lego Hellbringer model on display, so I'll share mine as well :)

This model took 1,098 bricks to make. Around 700 of those pieces went into the legs.

This 65-ton omnimech is very popular with Clan Hell's Horses and Clan Jade Falcon. Despite being chastised as being the "heaviest light 'mech" by only haveing around 8 tons of standard armor, this 'mech has 28.5 tons of pod space, the most of any of the original Clan heavy omnimechs introduced during Operation Revival. Because of this, it can usually destroy another opponent before being destroyed itself, thanks to its payload and mobility (81 kph top speed).

The chassis itself is also very spacious, since it doesn't have any bulk from an endo-steel skeleton or ferro-fibrous armor, so it can mount large weapons with ease, or a lot of smaller weapons (this 'mech can field a brutal combination of ERPPCs and machine guns or micro pulse lasers).

Notice that the Primary configuration of the Hellbringer looks similar to the older, 70-ton Warhammer. Steiner forces codenamed the omnimech Loki, probably due to its ability to appear in different, unorthodox configurations from battle to battle because of the ease and speed at which its omni pods can be switched out between battles.

I've got the book where they do that - the reason was actually because of the "Utterly mad" configuration
IE: They could not believe that a mech with that much (hot!) weaponry for it's size wouldn't cook it's pilot

Sad thing is that these designs look way better than screenshots PGI released not so long ago ... Legos rule, keep it up.

I thought about designing 'mechs that size in the pictures that Athalus posted, but I wanted a size which provided me with the detail and pseudo-posability that I desired.

Well we now know what the MWO Summoner looks like in-game! Here's my Summoner!

This 70-ton omnimech is favored by Clan Jade Falcon. Although it is as maneuverable as other Invasion-era Clan heavy omnimechs on the ground, it has five fixed jump jets that allow the 'mech to jump 150 meters in a single bound. Its stock configurations are very simple, usually focusing around three separate weapon systems. Although it may seem limited in weapons, the Clan technology is far more efficient at destruction than anything the Inner Sphere has.

The Summoner shares arm and leg assemblies with the Hellbringer omnimech. This was probably a choice made by Clan Jade Falcon to make it easier to produce both Summoner and Hellbringer chassis.

This model took 1,172 bricks to make.

Someone tell me from which computer game box I got the idea for the following pose. I'll award an extra cookie if the Clan this Summoner is part of is also named :D

Here are a couple more pictures.

One more challenge: Name the pilot of the following Summoner, the Clan he belongs to, and the configuration. I'll also award an extra cookie if you can name the weapons in the configuration

They're okay. You are stacking a lot of slope bricks at the same orientation. LEGO has a great pile of bricks other than slopes that allows you to create angled geometry in a lot of spectacular ways and with good detail. At this stage I recommend practicing using these with more frequency, in combination with slopes or other bricks.

I love LEGO, too, and would like to take a close look at your creation!
Is there any chance to have a bigger photo about your creation since I can only see a very small photo now(maybe my computer setting?)

Did you try clicking on the picture? That makes it bigger than what you see in the forum post.
