BattleTech is a wargaming and military science fiction franchise launched by FASA Corporation in 1984, acquired by WizKids in 2000, and owned since 2003 by Topps.

The BattleTech.com site itself has posts about MWO design implementations (U.I. 2.0). They are definitely involved.

It's been said so many times (and there is now a thread about it in General) that "someone else" is pulling the strings behind the over-monetization of this game. That Topps might in any way be involved in that does not surprise me even a little bit.

I'd like to know the details, but probably won't ever.

Aside that topps does that have any part to do with the electronic license. That is owned by Microsoft... So it does not really explain anything. Aside that you need to stock up on tin foil.

50 Shades of Grey has more complex characters and conspiracy theories than a Battletech novel. :)

MechWarrior Online (MWO) is a BattleTech-themed simulation game currently under development by Piranha Games and Smith & Tinker for Microsoft Windows.

Hello,

Microsoft owns all electronic rights to BattleTech; Piranha Games is only a licensee (last I checked).

All other rights flow through Topps Company; Catalyst Game Labs and Iron Wind Metals license from them for books and miniatures (respectively).

Thank you,

- Herb
