No, it's only 15.

608/614 is pretty good.

Also this image seems to suggest only 15 are hardwired. I have yet to verify that through an official source though. It seems to mostly come from the sarna wiki though because the Timber Wolf/Summoner speeds are using the incorrect values one would find there.

To get 608 you need 19.2 tons free.

Well add insult to injury: both the kitfox and the adder have low hanging arms... so chances are if you have to crest a hill to fire you are dead before you can even use your "oversized" weapons.

Clan lights get the shaft in this game, take a ryoken, the weapons sit higher and it has more of everything at the same speed. There is absolutely no reason to go with a kitfox or adder instead of a ryoken.

Now if we had the dasher... that would be interesting.

A Daishi with 19 tons of armor, 300XL engine, and 15 hard-wired DHS has 50.5 tons of pod space.

I typically dont need more than 17 tons of armor on an assault, more than that is a waste IMO, so that will give me 52.5 tons of pod space.

Thats more than enough to run my devastator build... with dual gauss, dual erppcs, and quad ermedlas.

MWO gives you 32 armor per ton

608 / 32 = 19. So you need 19 tons. Which is the stock armor loadout on a Daishi.

The Daishi looks like its going to be the ONLY good clan mech. The rest are all terrible because their HUGE ass engines taking up so much tonnage, and/or lack of crit slots due to ES/FF, which prevents them from having decent loadouts. A MadCat for example has half the podspace of a Daishi, despite being three-quarters of the tonnage, thats a huge loss of podspace.

I personally believe clan mechs should be allowed to change their engine ratings (but not their engine types). And clan mechs should be balanced in other ways like "ghost tonnage" by having the matchmaker count clan mechs as being 10 tons heavier.

Not seeing your point. The base model has 50.5 tons available. Armor is part of the 49.5 tons already in use. It essentially has max armor before you get into the 50.5 tons.

Yeah just double checked, 19.2 gives you 614

Mistake in maths on my end.

Its OK, the Dire Wolf is a bit of a mind boggling monster ;)

Back to the Kit Fox and Adder, I'm not sure why people keep imagining scenarios where these mechs are fighting Jenners by themselves or cresting a hill alone. These mechs will take advantage of tactics we already implement with our long range lights and some mediums. The one true downside I see to these mechs is the lack of ECM but maybe one of the Kit Fox's omni pods will have it.

So, what happens to my beloved locust?
I HATE running ER LL's on it!

If only they got ECM, I think the first three variants we'll see are Prime, Alpha and Beta. No ECM at all. (Uller conf. C & G have ECM)

Then don't run ERLLs on it.

There are so many good setups to put on a locust, why restrict yourself to just that?

They have hinted that additional omni pods may become available. The Kit Fox C is unlikely because of the anti-infantry pods but they might include pod with the ECM. Unfortunately thats purely speculation so it is better to assume for the time being that the Clans will lack ECM.
