Pssst might want to pick that up. It wasn't me he took that attitude with. I just saw it on his twitter feed. Done making I consequential noise yet? You're just reinforcing everything I said sir

And I agree with a lot of what you said. I still will no longer defend or attempt to look over their attitudes. They want to act unprofessional, that's fine but don't get panties in a bunch when they're called out for it.

Holy crap. I just got done defending... Jesus, first it was Niko, and now it's beyond just a lack of customer service skills. This is beginning to become bizarre.

It's like the rest of the derp island squad, they demand respect while being about as toxic as toxic can be. However Sandpit shouldn't be lumped into that with them. He's not at all like that and IS actually constructive 99.9% of the time.

I'm in two minds of this myself. On one hand, when a civilian walks onto a farm or an oilfield or a logging team and starts b****ing about how others do a job he could never do, he deserves whatever comes to him. That's the Montana working man in me talking, and he loves to see Russ and Paul take all the sanctimonious b******t and toss it right back.

On the other hand, that doesn't change the fact that they're professionals and that they should be well aware of the nature of gamers. This toxic atmosphere isn't a surprise or something new. It's the internet. And sinking down to their level only gives that level more ammunition.

So I dunno. I guess where I land is that I disagree with the unprofessionalism, but I give it only a 4 out of 10 on my give-a-f****-o-meter. Partially because the unprofessionalism has been badly exaggerated. Much of it is simple snark and shortness.

Agreed. Sandpit pulled a Victor Morson Lite when the 5-11 problem was announced.

To be honest no, just going off of memory from a few months back. Have any links that I should perhaps read?

Yeah I just took a quick look at his posts. Apparently Sand's been spending too much time around the island dwellers, their derp is rubbing off.

While I don't agree with the "drop the mic", I took it to mean "that's the end of the discussion, for now ..." not unlike "soonTM".

I don't like it, but it is (apparently) the current vernacular.

There are a handful of guys that are VERY up and down, and overly active, on Twitter.

Russ' comment about the mic and peace out were a slip of professionalism, I agree, but you can only smack a dog so many times before it's going to nip at you. Saying "that's how the internet is" makes me sad, not because it isn't true, but because you are trying to make it seem like something we should accept. The vast majority of the vitriol was coming from Roadbeer, and Russ was trying to answer the statements at first, but everything he said was responded to with more (and growing) vitriol. Sandpit then jumped in and went from there.

I realize they both (supposedly) put a lot of money into the game and did not like the direction it was going, but that doesn't mean it is ok to assault someone over and over and over again. Look at the sheer number of tweets they sent that week, for Heaven's sake!

I used to enjoy Sandpit and Roadbeer's posts myself, but they have turned into a cancer now and need to go elsewhere, both for their own happiness and ours. If they choose to come back because they like the way the game is going, I am all for that, but if they don't like it, they should go someplace where they DO like it, instead of trying to bring everyone else down with them...

To be honest even when Roadbeer was defending PGI, I didn't much care for how he did it, because he used the same vitrol filled tactic then too. Some people can't discuss and debate without coming off as a total D'bag and trying to insult people for not agreeing on a opinion. He fits right in with the island dwellers really, since those guys are exactly the same in that regard.

Niko, could you please clarify these numbers that were provided by Paul?

In the reference, it mentions "number of drops". Was this just a master of confusing phrasing?

Specifically, in that data set, did a group of 4 players in a premade team who launched count as a single drop, or four drops?

Clarification of this point should be easily made, and would help us understand the composition of the player base.

Thanks.

Good question. I'll try to get an answer for you on this one by the end of week or early next week.

Hey Niko, it's been over a month since you said you'd answer this question.

While you are answering questions, what about group support for more than 4, you'd see a lot less multiple groups if people could play with the less than 12 friends they have on line at any given time.

Well, he did it in a snarky way, but Russ did allude to that being on the "soon" table due to this matchmaking algorithm update. It was actually the post that started all of this, unfortunately. He said "so can we do 5+ if Roadbeer isn't allowed" (or something to that effect)

Yeah well as it happens, and I'm funny this way, I don't acknowledge communication outside of this forum. It's a bizarre habit, it's almost like i expect that official communication for a game should at least be copied in the official forum for that game.

Weird huh?

please show me anywhere outside of K-Town I have insulted or otherwise antagonized Russ in any way (or any other member of PGI's staff for that matter)

You can dismiss my comments all you want. Notice how I said absolutely NOTHING until Russ decided to go the route he did on Twitter.

No goodbye rants
No "doom and gloom" rants
Nothing

You're right cim, you CAN only antagonize so long before you get nipped. You can spin it any way you want but MY replies did not start up until AFTER he decided to by a royal dbag and condescending. He thinks it's "cute" to poke fun at Road and completely forgets that just because some of us aren't constantly blowing up his twitter and the forums with QQ and "or else" threats that we AGREE with the reasoning behind Road quitting and being upset with the game direction and PGI as a whole.

Not once, other than the examples I gave above, have I blasted him or PGI like that. The whole basis behind it and what really set me off?

Imperius can be a diehard supporter, spend hundreds of dollars on a cake, support this game and company, but makes Russ mad on twitter and gets blocked THEN has to publicly apologize?
Then Russ can do the same thing and think it's "cool"

No sir, NOW I'm calling him on that and pointing it out.
NOW I'm pointing out just exactly what I see that PGI has done to create more unsatisfied customers. (Notice I said more and that's factual as I know of at least a dozen that quit over the past few months that DON'T post goodbye threads so yes that IS a factual statement)

Now as far as MY personal twitter? I'll post whatever the heck I want on it. That's MY twitter account. If people don't like what I post there, then don't visit MY twitter account. You can "island dweller" dismiss (which is EXACTLY where PGI went wrong in the first place in my opinion) but that doesn't invalidate anything I've said. The truly funny part is that there are several in this very post alone that state something along the lines of
"Troll, island dweller, dbags, etc." yet they were the very first ones to do absolutely NOTHING but troll MY posts because they didn't like what I had to say

I agree 100% with you here. Even the "give a ****" meter. If it had been the lone example or the first time it had happened.

This isn't the first time that Russ and/or Paul have come out and just been completely unprofessional and condescending to customers. It's a personal matter on just how much any one person cares about that but I'm tired of it and I finally called him on it. For some reason that's a "bad" thing and you should only post on their forums if you have "good" things to say. it's funny to watch people throw around the troll word even though the post they're talking about is perfectly within the forum rules, follows the guidelines, and is well-worded. They try to get it dismissed as a troll post because it just doesn't agree with their opinion. So then they post personal attacks and such because they're "justified" somehow.

The next time anyone feeling the need to attack me personally because of my previous statements, the next time you have a company that you've paid hundreds (thousands in many cases) of dollars to flat out tell you that your money didn't count and dismisses your support of their company, you come tell me how that's acceptable.

and just a quick FYI

what i've been stating in various threads? It's completely true. There's no trolling. It's factual timelines on how this game has progressed since "launch"

Phoenix Pack
Clan Pack
Various Hero Mechs
2 maps
1 "new" game mode (which just removed cap points from the exact same "other" game mode)
and some weapon tweaks.
That's it, nothing else

Even UI2.0 which was explicitly promised to be a top priority due to its buggy launch got shafted and placed on a backburner for clans. you combine all of that with explicitly lying (yes it's a lie) about CW being out before clans. (Noone seems to remember that the day, that's less than 24 hours mind you, before clan packs were announced Russ publicly PROMISED that CW would be out before clans) but everyone forgets about things like that.

Now you combine all of that together, add in Russ' remarks about "true" support and you should be able to understand the frustration that some of us feel. It goes WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY beyond group limits. That was just the final straw for some of us.
