Some Hero Mechs have stories, others Mechs do not.
Why not yours?

Post here your Mech backstories with optional paint but REMEMBER to use

So my first Hero Mech purchase is a Grid Iron. I first looked up American footbal players who used 00 as jersey numbers and found 2, Jim Otto and Ken Burrough. Using this information and a few other Battletech tidbits I found, I came up with the following backstory for my GI named Aught-Oh.

THE HBK-GRID IRON STORY
The first Grid Iron (named Aught-Oh) was used by Mechwarrior Ken Otto, a descendent of football great Jim Otto (known American football player who wore the 00 jersey number), whose homeworld is the planet Sheliak, is a former member of a FRR Freemen regiment then became a Solaris pilot that achieved some fame of his own prior to the Clan Invasion. Being both a Mechwarrior and fan of football, Ken used his Hunchback in the Solaris games combining some strategies and playstyle of football with Mech combat. He painted his Grid Iron in the colors of his ancestor's team, the Oakland Raiders and used Jim Otto's jersey number. Ken was also asked to and did participate in the Noisiel Summer Games in an effort to use Ken's fame to boost the Summer Games.

Ken's success level and fame led to some other Hunchback Mechwarriors making their own version of the Grid Iron and painting them in favorite sports team colors of the 31st Century and historically. Grid Irons can be found throughout the Inner Sphere such as the Solaris duels, Noisiel Summer Games, various combat units and other sporting ventures.

Grid Iron also is a nickname of 31st century football player Jim Burrough, descendent of Ken Burrough (another player with the 00 jersey), and a later friend of Ken Otto.

My second Hero Mech purchase is a Pretty Baby. From the paint, I thought of doing a chained ice giant thing related to Asgardian mythos but moved away from that. After searching for 'snow creature chain' and 'ice creature chain' I combined two legends into one Mech and developing story.

THE KRAMTHEUS STORY

Kramtheus is the Awesome of Hesiod Bruce, a Mech games contender and sometimes solo Mercenary performing oddball contracts. Hesiod designed Kramtheus for speed and fighting small engagements at all ranges. The Mech's name is a hybrid of two favorite mythological characters of Hesiod, the Titan Prometheus and the Krampus and draws upon both for its different paint schemes.

The Krampus paint theme has always been a specialty one hardly changing and used when needed either in games or on assignments, colored white or light gray like a Krampus fur with brown for details/fur and black/steel/dark grey for its chains.

Hesiod likes to change the base color of the Prometheus theme, the typical paint, as the mood strikes him. Known for using orange and red as Prometheus theme base paint, it is said other base colors have been tried as well but Kramtheus always has yellow colored flame (so far) to represent Prometheus bring fire to humans and chains of white or light blue to represent Mount Kazbek where the Titan was chained as punishment.

Krampus paint usually used on snow/ice terrain.
