After the "big" Launch event that was done in San Fran, which felt a lot like a fanfest only on a smaller venue. The idea came to me for that sort of thing to become yearly. Much like how EvE Online has there Fanfest every summer in Iceland, MWO could start by doing the same thing.

Hence this thread is more of a Suggestion, not only for the name, but also for doing this. Now the launch event was kinda...short, not even a full day. So as a suggestion would be to make it a full day, or even a 2 day event. As for a venue, mostly to keep it cheaper on yourselves, would be to place it in Seattle, WA, which I know would be an easy drive for all of the people at PGI (poor IGP would have to fly in lol). Hell even hold it there in Vancouver, CCP dose that and hundreds of people (spend lots 'o money) to fly to ICELAND to go the Fanfest. Granted those are the dedicated diehards of EvE, but a lot of that crowed (and that same dedication) is right here in MWO surrounding the Battletech franchise. Those very same people would fly anywhere to go to a MWO event (I am one of 'em lol).

Its been a thought I have had for sometime, and finally decided to actually put up a post about it to see who thought this would be a cool idea. A full day of presentations of Concepts, Dev Talks, and general MWO talk, maybe some TT playing, and maybe even another (random) turny like last time (epic it was).

Great idea :) However, I doubt such an event would be worth doing/even doable unless PGI seriously gets their **** together like...5 months ago... -_-

Forgive my disgruntled friend, he is entitled to give his opinion.

I figure IF PGI were to follow your suggestion they should at least actually launch a game Whole and True before they celebrate.

They should just do it in Vegas every year.

And you have to bet if CW is implemented this time?

Oh, I already placed my bets and lost (as evidenced by the Founder/Phoenix tags).

I hope mine to be a nice gold one, denoting those that got the big boy one. Should be of the mech you even got, be cool to see some Gold Daishi (this would also make the 3rd package I have bought...maxed, in a row). I am supporter of this game, and I damn will show it!

nah no gold one - i have no problems in spending money - i have problems in spending money for nothing ... and a gold mech is worser as nothing.
(exklusive Khan Mechs would have mean - 20 Clans - with 2 khans each - so 40 limited Mechs - and i would gladly have bought a Wolverine Dire Wollf - although that wouldn't be canon either)

As much as I like your idea, PGI can't afford this. They don't have the big draw to do a 2 day event.

Pretty true.

Because they have to pay Themselves + Staff, Pay for server usage in Toronto + techs there, Pay IGP their cut, and Pay Ultimatepay their cut for the transactions.
