Hardpoints:

Breakdown:

The Squall Polly, otherwise designated the Stormcrow-F, is the first theoretical OmniMech redesign from renowned* BattleMech customs house Foxclone Mechworchs, and is designed for the use of its premier (and only) pilot, callsign 1453-R. Intended to maximize the Stormcrow’s power as a strike machine, this theoretical build emphasizes medium lasers and SRMs, as strikers have done since the dawn of time itself.

A melding of the Prime and A configurations, the F configuration bristles with small-bore weaponry. Five Clan-spec ER medium lasers produce a ferocious energy fusillade with most of the standoff range of an Inner Sphere large laser, allowing the Polly to harass targets at a distance while maneuvering for its real payload. Three Clan-spec Streak SRM-6 racks, mated to four tons of ammunition and a Beagle Active Probe, enable the F to produce a brutally accurate salvo of eighteen warheads in close-range combat. Though more vulnerable to AMS than Inner Sphere SRMs, the increased accuracy (and by extension effective range) of the Clan-spec launchers more than makes up for this drawback.

Fourteen Clan-spec double heat sinks work to keep the Polly cool, as does careful trigger discipline on the high-output lasers. The ‘Mech’s movement profile enables it to quickly close with larger, slower enemies and gut them with its vicious close-quarters armament, while anything faster than the F have much to fear from its heavy CSSRM armament. Much like the glory days of the venerable HBK-4SP, the Stormcrow-F punches well above its weight class, with a well-distributed armament and the Clans’ superior XL technology enabling the ‘Mech to lose either shoulder and still remain a threat.

The Stormcrow-F is the ultimate expression of the mobile harassing striker begun with the TBT chassis. Swift, powerful, and utterly merciless…come June 17th, no light ‘Mech and no rear armor will ever be safe again…

I'm going to be 'that guy' but...

There already is a Stormcrow F config and it comes with AP Gauss and Plasma Cannons.
Also the A config left arm comes stock with 4 medium pulse lasers, no missiles. However the D config left torso comes with a pair of SRM2's.

So the 5 laser, 3 SSRM6 build could be done with:
P Left Arm
D Left Torso
P Center Torso
A Right Torso
P Right Arm

And I fully approve.

Drop 1 ERML and the Active Probe so I can upgrade an SSRM6 to an LRM20 and you have what I plan to play around with.

Huh. Heh, too bad. I don't have any of the tech readouts and Sarna doesn't give me hardpoint locations - only way I could judge was making guesses based on the old BT TCG card art they had for the A-variant. Heh...as for four medium lasers, two CSSRM-6, and a CLRM-20...isn't that the A configuration straight up? Either that or Sarna's lying to me again. Either way, appreciate the tips!

As for the -F thing? Screw it, I don't care :D They can have as many official F variants as they want, but there'll only ever be one Foxclone Mechworchs Stormcrow-F! Especially since we're never going to get plasma cannons or APGRs anyways...T_T

Best resources are http://outreachnews.net/mechlab or http://users.anet.co...chs/om-ry.html.

SRM6s are a better bet than SSRM6s right now.

Current favorite loadout:
[STORMCROW-PRIME]:
Prime Head 1xERLL
Prime LA/RA, 4xERSL
D RT 1xSRM6+A
D LT 2xSRM6+A

Add DHS and ammo to taste.

67 point alpha.

ETA: Can also drop the Head laser down to an ERML for extra ammo and heat efficiency.

Or 2xLRM15+A plus, 4xERSL, TAG, CAP, and 9 tons of ammo at over 100kph.

I just bought the StormCrow a la carte.

I think I'm going to try out this SCR-PRIME first, and go from there. An AC20 medium that can actually move and carry other weapons....hallelujah!

I'm only carrying two tons of AC ammo because I figure people will be trying to blow that arm off when they see the ballistic barrel.

I'm running close to canon A with 2x SSRM6, LRM20, 4ERML (instead of MPLs), 13 total DHS, and Active Probe.
Engage anything, at any range.

Splat lights, poke stuff with lrms, and laser them to death. A very fun build for me.

Oh Shatner! Totally forgot about this thread for a little bit.

Squall Polly, Final Stage

ER smalls turned out to be awesome, I can't not put large lasers in my head when I'm allowed to put large lasers in my head, and with the laser armament I've still got plenty of bite while waiting for the Streaks to come off cooldown. Been contemplating dumping the fourth ton of missile ammo for another heat sink - CSSRM-6s are pretty ammo-efficient with that redonkeylus cycle time.

May very well try that almost-A variant as well, see how that plays out. Could be a fun change of pace, possibly more reliable than the regular Squall Polly.

My final C variant SCR-C

Enough ammo to last a lot of matches. You can always dump a dhs for another ton. I've been having some success with this mech doing hit and runs. Tried the LB20X but found the spread to be awful past 150m or so. This is a great flanker/ambusher.
