Whatever happened to the Vindicator? I thought this mech' was going to be released, seems forgotten already. (sad face)

It is silly it's just not the time for it since everyone at pgi is busy (supposedly :P )

They never said it would be out May, or June, or any specific time. The mech team clearly has a lot on their plate to get the Clan mechs out with only a few short weeks left.

If we're really lucky we might get the Annihilator too, I count at least 4 variants that would be available at this point in the timeline, one of which ( the 2A, listed in TRO 3050 ) is not listed on the sarna page for some reason. If you're curious the other variants are 1A, 1E and 1X, there is no date listed for the 1G and most of the later variants, but I'd assume that except for the 1G those were all introduced after the 2A.
The King Crab would be another fun one to play, I've definitely had fun playing it in Roguemek, but we're not likely to ever see it in MWO.

far more likely to see the King Crab than the Annihilator, which is essentially seen only in the Dragoons (less than 20 models, no factory for them in the IS at this time) or the Clan Homeworlds. Not to mention dual ballistic 100 tonner is less sphincter puckering a thought to the Devs than quad ballistics.

You're right about that last bit, but adding a new mechlab mechanic that would break a whole bunch of mechs in new and exciting ways so we can get the King Crab seems a lot worse to me. Likely meta builds for the Daishi include triple heavy ballistics, and it can fit multiple clan ultra AC/20 or clan Gauss no problem, so we're more likely to see ballistics boating IS assaults once it's introduced. Introducing the King Crab would break every ballistics boat over 50 tons, introducing the Mauler or Annihilator on the other hand would only give us an IS alternative to the Daishi.

Not sure what would break the mechlab. The original king crab had all the crits in the and, same as the Victor. Some dummy messed it up on the old record sheets and it got canonized that way, cuss well, FASA editing staff made pgi look competent. The claws are never supposed to be hand anyhow. Treat them like the doors on the catapult and the problem is solved with no mechlab issues added

That would solve it, but I doubt PGI would do it. Though they did remove the hatchet from the Yen Lo Wang because it would be useless in MWO at present, so there's hope.

Hatchet? It had nails at this point in time, though I don't remember if they counted them as hatchet rules or not (of course, the original 3025 Hatchetman didn't spend 3 tons on it's hatchet, either in the first ed TRO, so.........).

But yeah, Melee is probably never going to happen (sadly, would love to dropkick a poptart in the face), rear firing lasers moved to the front, leg weapons to corresponding torsos, and who knows what they will do with those Clan Mechs packing anti-personnel pods....since well, no personnel to anti, lol. So I don't think it would be too far out of line and Russ did tweet the KGC would happen at some point...probably right after Role Warfare becomes a reality, and the Awesome's hitboxes get fixed.

And didn't replace it with anything else. They took a weapon and gave no weapon in return. That sucks. Should of gave us some hard points on that arm at least. Maybe some energy hard points. I mean later on the Wang gets some Med lasers there anyway.

Yeah they did, They replaced it with DUHDUHDUH!!!!!!! a 215 engine (and 2 tons of armor). Trew story. YLW had a 200.
"real" YEN-LO-WANG
as those titanium nails would weigh the same 4 tons on the YLW as on a 60 ton mech by old TT rules (1 ton for every 15 tons of the mech, rounded up)

But yeah...... I do appreciate being able to pack a 300XL though.

I still remember the chill when I saw this outro first time. I wished video games would look like it and voila, after just 18 years :P they look at least three times better, but the chill has gone))

I kinda hope the Annihilator is only an option for folks that have 'unlocked' being able to be in the Wolf's Dragoons (something about being a merc for all the houses etc), but if not I don't think we will see it.

They may even give Clan autocannons (or at least ultras) a firing delay like gauss. Or just make the projectiles REAAAAAAAAL slow.

Best case scenario they make each trigger pull fire a stream of shots, and make the impulse value on them insanely low.

Yay, yet another Capellan mech....

Personally, I always liked the Clint. Mean little 40 ton mech and arguably one of the better looking medium mechs. Best of all, it's got a very small profile.

If an Ultra AC/20 still deals 2*20 damage, I can live with that. If I can obliterate mechs with 50 damage worth of lasers, I can probably do it with up to 120 damage worth of ballistics weapons.
