Motion blur, Cockpit reflection and others are neat ideas, but players (generalization) feel that the time spent creating them could have been better spent implementing promised features and fixing fundamental game functions. That's a reason why players are so frustrated with the game.

I don't wanna be that guy who says "Different programmers work on different things..." but things like the cockpit glass, the screenshake caused by other Mechs and the arty explosions added a lot of immersion for me

I dont mind them either. Not necessarily saying they are perfect features, but things like screen shake add extra immersion and challenges to the game.

..tbh though, I am so focused on my targets and getting the best situational awareness I can that I tend to not notice these minor things.

edit: For the record, motion blur and film grain are just horrid and possibly two of the worst things to happen to this game..

I despize cockpit glass and film grain - and turned motion blur off before I even dropped my first match (I don't even remember if it was on by default) - but there are definitely different sub-specializations of programming at work.

Unfortunately, programmers are not fungible - you can't just spend them like MC to buy features. Of course, one wishes they had more of certain kinds of programmers, but... We'll just have to see. I do wish the money that was put into making a Megamek CCG Mechwarrior Tactics would have been put into fixing CryEngine like, two years ago. But if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

I honestly never noticed motion blur and I kinda like the cockpit glass...then again that's me and i'm sure about 15 people are gonna find it weird that someone likes it.

i like the windshield glass effect but it works backward to normal, i am ok with that though.

I also like the cockpit glass.

The motion blur was a huge problem before I upgraded my system. Every 'Mech would have that nasty blur behind them and it was hell trying to hit lights a lot of the time, now however my system runs smooth on ultra high and the motion blur/ghosting affect is gone..

OK back on the topic of motion blur, it seems NoAA and PostAA both force Motion Blur on, even if you had selected Motion Blur off. I really prefer Motion Blur off since it makes targets beyond 400m hard to target as they move. Despite my exhortations, enemy pilots seem to not want to stand still while I shoot at them :-D.

Given all that, I have to choose between TXAA and MSAA if I want Motion Blur off. Now, I have an i7 with GTX780, pretty much brand new. It runs the full 60 fps on NoAA or PostAA with VSync. Yet when I run TXAA or MSAA my frame rate drops down to 30 fps. What am I doing wrong? I have read about "shaders files" and "need to let the game re-build your shaders library."

Will a kind and knowledgeable person guide me step-by-step how to get reasonable fps with TXAA or MSAA on what I thought was a high-end gaming gear, please?

Thanks in advance.

It's not you or your gear, it's just MWO's terrible implementation. As far as I know, there's no way to get good performance there right now.
