Looking To Join A Clan
#1

I am a social player and am looking to join a Clan that would not mind teaching someone with a much lower level playing skill. And, preferably, a Clan that is based in Europe. Any suggestions on Clan (and unit) that I should join would be most welcome!
Thank you!

I will let you know about Clan Ghost Bear. We are both North America and Europe based, with friendly ties to the German Clan Ghost Bear group. We have a dedicated Euro Trinary (group). We would gladly assist you in improving your skills. We are quite active in both the game and the community. Feel free to join our sibkos.

As a point of clarification, this particular section of the MWO forum (the general "Factions - Clans" section) is geared toward general discussion of the in-universe groups known as the Clans - which are not to be confused with the typical gaming "clan" (which most around here tend to refer to as a "unit").
For the latter (a gaming "clan"/unit/guild), you might wish to visit the individual Clan subfora (e.g. Clan Wolf, Clan Jade Falcon, Clan Ghost Bear, Clan Smoke Jaguar) as well as the recruitment sections of each Great House in the "Factions - Inner Sphere" section and the "Factions - Merc Corps" section.
If the former (a Clan, as the fictional organizations from the BattleTech/MechWarrior source material) is also a criterion for unit selection, do you have a particular affinity for any specific Clan?
Also, depending on where in Europe you are from, perhaps you might want to try the International subfora - which include French, German, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Scandinavian, and Czech & Slovak (and Japanese, for the sake of completeness - even though Japan isn't in Europe).

We are currently doing well in recruiting EU players though being a relatively new unit we are quite small but aspiring towards bigger and more profitable days. We are looking for pilots in all TZs however.
We also have good allied contacts with larger Merc groups to assist with social play options and linking into 12 man and 4 man social and organised learning.
Initiatives include:
- A two branched pathway with its structure, "The silk", that accommodates both the casual player and more organised team play.
- Both IS and Clan tech accommodated.
- Alternative Clan trial system that incorporates more social considerations.
- Orientation programme being currently tested to help prepare and train pilots for the Dark Born life.
- RIG system that helps pilots define builds and play various Mech roles to unified unit standards without prescribing Mech use for the organised teams.
- Codex system to record extra social, preference and pilots stats data.
- Upcoming loyalty and internal bartering system with chits. Which can allow with the accumulation of efforts and contributions to unit interests culminating in Ultimate Game Cards. It also allows for an internal social currency.
- Future further specialised training as ongoing content.

is also a great place to talk to clans and just drop casually (even the ones not showing as active in that server are on their own but paying attention to PM's)

What the people above already said. A "Clan" in MWO (and Battletech in general) has a specific meaning:

A gaming "clan" (like the ones in Diablo, or the guilds in MMORPGs) is not the same thing.

You may want to check Clan Wolf Alpha Galaxy , but the best option is jumping in the Strana Mechty TS to play with several units

Holy Kerensky, Ricecop, is this your first post ever?

But, yes. Skill can be learned with a little dedication. However, attitudes can rarely be changed.

And, yes, I do mean Clan in very much a Mechwarrior sense rather than a gaming clan. Thanks for distinguishing it anyway!

I will submit an application to join a sibko soon.
Cheers!
