Sry feature is hardwired, you need to replace the chip deep in your mechs circuits first.
But yeha, its needed. also a feature that may allow us releasing ctrl and then the torso automatically trying to follow the point we view instead of snapping bakc to torso front view.

PGI, to toggle means to ascertain something, not to hold the damn button as long as needed

I totally agree, it absolutely should be a toggle. But it's been pointed out lots of times before, I doubt they'll ever fix it even though it should be very easily done.

One of my buddies in my unit, BSI, is relatively new to the game and was constantly using arm-lock to get better weapons convergence and aim, but noticed his torso twisting was slower. Now, if you've got only torso mounted weapons, your arms are useless, but if you've got arm-equipped weapons, wouldn't you want to be able to snap a shot off at that Mech before getting behind cover? I can understand some folks newer to the game prefer arm-lock and want a toggle... the Devs should add a hotkey to allow this. Now... my question to you folks in the thread here... have you tried playing the game without arm-lock engaged? Do you score higher damage, have increased accuracy, or generally feel more comfortable with arm-lock? I ask because I've been playing since Day 1 Closed Beta without arm-lock and see the negative effects it can have on a Mech.

You know... After thinking about it..
This will only increase the effectiveness of ballistics type weapons... Which are already very strong.
Sort of against the idea making ballistics, pin point, high alpha meta even stronger...
This probably does not stop macro users that found their own workarounds...

This thread does not exist for this purpose.
I play without ARM LOCK but there are some mechs (CTF-3D for convergence, SDR for too speedy arms, etc.) that almost require ARM LOCK. There are also certain times that ARM LOCK could help, I think sniping, and others that it's better to have ARM free, as to follow a near light. This is the purpose of an ingame toggle!

Best Regards

I have a couple mechs with only torso weapons that I'd like to play with armlock on only for the fact that it keeps my screen more in line with the torso, but having to toggle through the Settings is too much of a bother (yeah I'm that lazy). I too would like to see the Toggle Armlock function behave true to its name.

One of many reasons I've said armlock was a very bad thing.
It'd be great if it wasn't a 100% lock. Say a 90% one with some 'flex' to it.
